How much is Baldur's Gate 3 in dollars?
The price in Turkey is 800 Turkish Lira. How much does it cost where you are?

The game is 59.99 in USD, which converts to 1622.53 Turkish lira.

You're getting a deal, a half price deal, so keep that in mind if you're thinking about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the price.

Those of us in countries with decent currencies are subsidizing your game.

That depends, Pleiadian dollars or Transnubian dollars?

Clovis, I'm aware of that, and I'm not complaining. I think the price of the game is very good for Turkey; I was just curious.

Yep, they have very good regional pricing & pricing history for their previous games!`

Of course, it's very good for Turkey. It's half price.

But you should have seen the posts from Turkey and Argentina when they did a currency adjustment. Pages of them.

I need you to Americanize this amount. How much is 800 Lira in terms of Cheez-it boxes or Pepsi bottle prices?

when India and turkey make threads with the currency they always put it in 100s which makes me go "omg that much o.o"

But it's true. Just look at that chart Яeplicant posted --

All of those countries with their prices in blue are enjoying a steeply discounted price based on the conversion rate of their currency. The top five -- Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, Kazakhistan, and Turkey -- receive discounts of anywhere from 50 to 65 percent off the benchmark price in USD.

Twenty-five or so other countries are also receiving discounts of varying amounts.

And who is subsidizing these discounts? US customers, for one, and all of those customers at the bottom of the list with their prices in orange.
Even so it's rude, people cannot help where they are born.
Regional pricing is awesome and I wish more devs would do it.

The guy whining about regional pricing is probably not understanding that Larian is making the same income per unit selling for $60 USD in America and $30 USD in Turkey. American/first world taxes are out of control

You actually think taxes account for a 100% price increase?

The truth is far simpler: prices always increase to whatever maximizes profit (which heavily depends on what customers are willing to pay).

Lol. Update your talking points.

Turkey VAT is 18%. Corporate tax in Turkey is 25%.
US sales tax varies by state. Highest are around 10% and lowest to 6% or so. Corporate taxes in the US are around 21%.

So, no, Larian isn't making as much, or even close by selling their product at essentially half price in Turkey. It is 100% true that consumers in the EU and USA are paying a subsidy to those buying the game in places like Turkey and Argentina.

We aren't subsidizing anything, they are selling digital goods, not physical ones. There is basically no production cost per unit, they could sell it for 1$ in select countries and still make a profit of those sales.

You're wrong too. We're not "subsidizing" anything, it's just that people in those countries aren't willing to pay more, so the prices go down. Some profit is better than none, after all. I guarantee you that if people in other countries stopped buying games at full price, the prices would drop there too.

Or do you think publishers are selling their games at a loss?
