Easy act 1 oathbreaker
Wasn't doing this intentionally but have decided to roll with it. Pick oath of devotion (I think that's the name of the middle oath option?) and recruit Karlach.

Do her quest to kill the pretend paladins of Tyr, but when you get there, just straight up attack the one outside the room with the main guy without even talking to them.

When my character landed the killing blow on the lead paladin, the game told me I had broken my oath, even though what I had really done was save a deserter from being forcibly conscripted into fighting demons forever, which sounds pretty paladin-y to me, but whatever, I got cool necromancy powers now.

You can break it much much earlier, dont need to wait that long. Just kill the tieflings imprisoning Laezel.

True, but this is a way to break your oath without being a bad person, because killing those fake paladins is actually a good deed, just done in a very underhanded way.

You attacked without making sure if the target is innocent or not. If you made sure of it the oath stands as they will attack you first. Do not take an oath if you do not understand it.

I mean I'm cool with my character being a flawed person. I made this thread incase anyone wanted to become an oathbreaker without actually being a bad person.

You still violated your oath by relying on meta knowledge and not gaining it ingame like reading thoughts frist.

easiest way is if you choose paladin and take the healing one then go for laezel trick them in releasing her and then attack tieflings and boom quick and easy oathbreaker
