Your opinion on the character creator

Before I started playing, I read reviews that said "the character creator is so great, be prepared to spend hours there". However, I found it a bit underwhelming: only race, class, background, a few features of appearance (a lot fewer options than I expected based on my experience with other recent games), and that was it. I was done in five minutes (granted, I thought of my race and class while the game was downloading). Am I missing something? What makes the character creator so special, how do some people seem to spend so much time there?

TBH; it was pretty lackluster, but when you spend the majority of your time zoomed out I'm not really worried about it. There are mods that expand on it for people who want that expanded customization.

Aside from the faces, NW2's CC is much better. And the best female face still looks like a dude's.

What I would want more than more visual customization, is a way to see what each class / subclass gets leveling up.

Being able to see the classes list of benefits, and the level based benefits of some of the races, would be nice.
But, overall, i like the customization. more options are great as long as it doesn't mess with the cinematics.
I just wish they could fix the hair clipping issues for some of the options but that is always a problem in games like this hehe

TBH the character creator itself is unimpressive.

Neither bad nor great. It's good. Average honestly.

It distinctly lacks many features really great character creators have, while having some features that they don't that are good, and doesn't really have any of the obnoxiously bad flaws that some of the truly bad character creators do have.

It does do a fairly good job of capturing the overall essence of creating a D&D character. So, that goal is met.

It has logical inconsistencies though. Like having the ability to alter lower genitals, but not upper genitals. Facial options feel kind of limited in the grand scheme of things, and no way to alter certain things like eye-slant, eye-distance from center, eye size, etc, etc, etc, just lots of things lacking that the truly Great creators have. Heterochromia is an option so that made me particularly happy, and the selection of colors and metallic slider is nice.

Its woefully outdated / underdeveloped. If you are going to stress nudity and sexuality, the CC needs to have body scaling options, muscle vs fat, breast size, height, and dozens of other options. This one is little more than pick a face, 'gender', hairstyle, and some colors.

Pretty barebones. I'd have liked to have at least more options with jewelry or tattoos or makeup or other various accessories since you can't do anything else with your body besides size and whatnot. At least there's a decent selection of hairstyles.

As far as the character creator goes, it would've benefited greatly from more facial options. If no one has the time/funds to build a sensible slider, then have pre-sets to select from under Eyes, Nose, Mouth and let people Mr Potato Head it with all of the Face Shape standards.

Seems strange vs the amount of hair, face tattoos, and scar options.

In relation to thread: it could use more options. The faces are fine, but some just seem our of proportion and some races and body types.

Hung up on what? They were clearly making a joke in relation to the thread topic. The subtext being that there aren't enough facial feature customisation options.

adequate enough. Most of the time in game I just modify my hair anyways. the only game I really go full detail is code vein just because that game character creation is really good.

The char creation is basic, not too much options. characters will likely look the same. It's one of the worst aspect of the game.

No eyebrow options, no nose options, no size sliders (for the muh clippin crowd, games since 2012 had adjustable models that stretch armor textures over them), no dwarven or half orc voice, all tiefling males have a chad chin.

Yeah the character creation was pretty generic, I expected to at least have different voices for some races.
It's not amazing, it's not trash, just basic character creation.

It's bad. 3-4 hairstyles that don't make you look like a donkey, a bunch of crap you can mess your face up with to make you look more like a frequent visitor of Hot Topic, and the choice between horse face, or not horse face.

The hair color options are okay at least... almost as good as hentai games from 5 years ago.
