Another class for Astarion that fits the storyline?
My main character is a gnomish rogue, so the Astarion class doesn't fit me. I didn't take him on the team, but I'd like to get to know him a bit, but for that to make sense he would have to have a different class. I know I can choose any, but I'd like one that fits the storyline. Here is a question for you, people who know Astarion and hisotory. What class would fit him?

Bard.

Each companion has unique voice lines for each class's abilities.
he fits bard so well :V.

Swords Bard would suit him. Ranger Gloomstalker too.
He's too irreverent for a Cleric, Paladin or Monk I'd think.
Caster classes could work, I'd say neutral on those.
Fighter or Barbarian. Not really.

I made him a warlock.

Absolutely Bard. So much of his personality, outlook, and backstory is bardish in the first place. Plus his Vicious Mockery quips are fantastic.

Two rogues are completely viable even if you spec them both for ranged.

Wizard. Fighter and bard.
Astarion is one of the few companions who can actually fit as most classes as it is never specified or hintet at what he actually does when he fights. But his 'canon' class being Arcane trickster indicates hes both good at fighting in hand to hand and use magic.
Though Paladin, cleric, druid and Sorc and barbarian dont seem to fit him. Almost every other could be argued would fit him.

My rogue gnome fights with a bow. At first she did the most damage on the team, but now at level 6 everyone but her has two attacks and it's bad....

Give him dual crossbows. Rogues benefit a lot of dual wielding compared to other classes.

Bard. Fits perfectly. A tad far stretched would be Fighter or Warlock a la duelist.

College of Sword Bard or Bard in general would come into mind, aswell as
Gloomstalker Ranger. But you can also make him a DEX based Fighter Duelist i guess?
Would all fit his vibe i think. I probably wouldn't make him Druid/Sorcerer/Cleric/Wizard, feels kinda off, but yea. He can do different things than rogue easily.

Thank you very much for your answers. I'm not surprised that this game has such a great community!

I have never played a Bard. I think it is worth a try.

I will admit that I converted my Shadowheart to a paladin because somehow clerics don't suit me, however, I can't imagine changing the class of Gale, Wyll or Halsin.

Go rogue 4 take thief as your subclass, and get 2 handcrossbows and get sharpshooter. Then go to fighter 2 and take archery fighting style.

You now have 3 attacks per round and you hit like a truck. You're welcome :)

Wyll is working great as Paladin(2)/Warlock(Pact of Blade 10) if you want to give him heavy armour. With Healing Radiance he became quite an allrounder for me. Gale works better for me as Cleric/Sorcerer - again for the heavy armour (Tempest) and easy play with Storm Sorcerer.

Halsin, well, druids are quite strong to begin with.

Barbarian. Baby raging subclass.

I changed my Wyll into a pure fighter
