Gloves of dexterity
If i build a dexterity class and put 0 points on dexterity but i equip the gloves, i get 18 dexterity right, doesn’t matter if it come from a item right ? That way i can have extra points to put in another stats

Yep. You can never go above 18 though, even if you put a point into it or increase it by other means, which is the downside.

Gloves are also a pretty important slot. Classes tend to shine most when their abilities are paired with knock-on effects that come from gear. So filling the gloves slot is a pretty appreciable sacrifice. Depending on what you're doing though, it could be worth it.

Just be ware that for skill checks they seem to apply a negative modifier also.
Eg. int 8 ( -1 ) with the ogre crown in 17 ( +3 ) means skill checks get both modifiers, I assume it would be the same for the dex gloves. using 2 points to get dex 10 would avoid the issue.

Gave them to karlach and never looked back, super dex save and extra 'free' armor.

Maybe i'm remembering wrong, but the math counters the original deficit. equipping that crown always results in a final +3, and not 3-1.

Yeah and it sounds impressive ... until you realise that you just can't dump all those points into other skills beyond a certain threshold + you loose the (very) important glove slot + while dex is good for AC, for most characters being very proficient in their main skill is enough.

That's what I found over time. Early game, it's great. But over time, focusing in multiple areas becomes untenable. Usually. And I've seen gloves tend to have a lot of build defining temporary effect options.

Putting them on Shadowheart got me the most mileage in my playthrough, trying to play Trickster domain on it's own terms.

I use them exclusively for my low initiative companions , like shadowhearth or my casters as this combined with something else that gives + to initiative gives makes sure they don’t lag behind on the action

I normally just respec her domain. She's much better as a pure support.

I tried that, but then I felt like I was betraying the character's story and theme and her personality. I switched back to Trickery and just forced myself to make it work on it's terms. It's not easy, but it's doable, and can be effective.

Either that or they patched it, I stopped using it on my gnome mage hireling - was dumping his int for dex/con, since I went elemental adept anyway and so couldn't get 18 int till much later.
