Who makes a good 4th companion to pair with Lae'Zel and ShadowHeart?

After watching a few videos with Devora Wilde, voice actor to Lae'Zel. I want to do a playthrough without benching Lae'Ze; and only taking her out for walks when dealing directly with other frog people.

I heard she's a great tank. So I might go play bard, and have Shart as my support, because she and lae'zel have great chemistry...
Who would y'all recommend as a third, for story?

I already have used Gale, Astarion and Shadowheart with my first playthrough.
I am using Minthara, Shadowheart, and Astarion for my DUrge (evil) playthrough. Durg is a necromancer wizard.

I also am planning a Gurge. Mostly to feature Karlach and Wyll because I haven't given either of them the benefit (they're my two least favorite characters, not counting Halsin/Minthara/Janeira or Minsc.)

I don't like the origins because it turns the origin player character into the silent protagonist xD.

As far as narrative and synergy is concerned, I found Astarion and Minthara were both great in that particular grouping - all the better if you are playing something a ruthless/pragmatic type of character, as you will often be netting approval for 2-3 of your companions at once.

I think Astarion because he is good as a bad or good guy. First 5 lvls gloomstalker, then all assassin.

Make sure to respec with Withers.

the classic 4 are wizard, cleric, fighter, rogue. you have 2 of the 4, but the extreme laxness for slight of hand rolls means anyone can play the rogue role or you can multi to rogue 3 and get all you need while the damage & support caster role can be covered by druid, sorc, wiz, warlock, or even bard.

if you respec, its whoever you like best. If not, its the role you want.
you can also just use a withers-zombie.

I ended up killing or having a few early game companions leave so I ended up with Lazel, Shart, and a wizard hireling for parts of Acts 1 and 2. Then I saved Minthara and had her in my party from then on. I was a monk.

Felt like a really good combo because Minthara, Lazel, and my tav would obliterate everything in sight while shadowheart just sits in the back, tries to hurt things (never does), and heals up people.

My MC is a Bard, and I have a Fighter/Cleric/Wizard with me and it's honestly as good as it gets.
