Sorlock was, is, and will be when all else has fallen into the Stygian Abyss.
Sorlock is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega.
I've been thinking about Sorlock. And, it is really an OP builld. How does this look?
Sorcerer lvl1 draconic.
At lvl 2 dip straight to warlock for two levels.. And come back all the way to Sorc. Is this a good option in your opinion? Or should I start with Warlock to get the medium armor proficiency?
Warlocks start with light armor proficiency.
The main thing for me is getting Font/Flexible from Sorcerer as fast as possible, and then my first Invocations from Warlock. After that, it doesn't really matter, you could kinda just go back and forth between the two, but you want to know your final split ahead of time (assuming a lvl 14 cap, I would most likely go 9/5 Sorc/Lock for lvl 3 pact slots and more sorc pts and spell slots from higher Sorc lvl - but the reverse could be interesting too, where you just dip into Sorc enough to get Font/Flexible).
So, yeah I'd probably start as a Warlock, then get up to 2 or 3 in Sorc, then just kinda go back and forth.
Eldritch Blast scaling with your character level really helps the process of leveling.
You are right. I got confused with Hexblade. Or maybe just use Gith as your starting race and start with Sorc? Is that viable in your opinion?
Yeah, in the end it shouldn't matter too much which you start with, as neither have good skill selection and you're only getting light armor prof with 'Lock (unless you go Hexblade or choose a race that starts with medium).
It's more just an issue of personal taste and what you feel like doing. Get to those milestones - Font/Flexible and your first two Invocations - which you should have by level four or five. If you kill the cambions and mind flayer in the tutorial, you're practically level three already.
I will most likely be a Drow or Wood Elf for my first Sorlock (I despise he Gith) and I plan to roll my stats because I hate pt buy. A Gnome would be interesting too.
Man, the most difficult about this game is who to roleplay. Want to cast high level spells but I do enjoy more melee types. Was hoping to play a Hexadin but not sure hexblade would even be here.
Sorcadin will probaly one of the most powerful MC builds, or maybe Paladin/Bard or a Tempest Clr / Sorcerer for the CD for max dmg on Lightning Dmg
That is so true. But, for some reason, I dont like taking long rest every minute. But you are right. There's no consquences for frequent long rest in this game. But it could only be act 1 though. Act 2 when you go overpass you may not able to do that.
Abusong short rest to turn slots into sorc points so you can then unleash an unholy barrage of spells and incinerate everything is the whole point.
The fact that you get EB enhanced by Invocations on top of that, and that it scales with character level, just means you can continue being useful even after you've blown your load.
And that's before factoring in subclass perks.
Sorlock is a better 'blaster' than either Sorcerer or Warlock alone.
Start as Wizard and take a one level dip into knowledge domain Cleric for proficiency and expertise in 2 out of arcana, history, nature, or religion (don't start with proficiency in the two you are going to pick so you get it from the multiclass) as well as medium armor and shield proficiency. You unlock higher level spells one level later but your spell slots level up as normal because both classes are full casters, and you get a bunch more cantrips. Just make sure your cleric cantrips don't require a high wisdom, take guidance and light n stuff.
Take a Fighter and give it 2 or 3 levels of Barbarian for some rage fun. A Barbarian with a couple levels of Fighter is good too.
Barbarian Druid for shapeshifting rage.
Rogue Rangers are excellent damage dealers, Make sure to take ranger at least to level 5 for multi attack.
