Cleric level 5
Spirit guardian is amazing with momentum gears O.O once cast you can hit pretty much every enemy without using actions or bonus actions in a single turn! Sprint+free jump is OP as faccckkkk :D I love it! Might make a cleric on my next playthrough. Melted pretty much every duergar in the Nere fight effortlessly. Its a bummer I didnt get to play with it more! Im looking forward to further content :)

Spirit guardian has been proven in solasta to be a fairly useful damage spell.

Spirit Guardians spell is really good. But is it better than Bless, which makes everyone in the party better? I don't think so.
Bless is best spell in the game.
Luckily you don't really have to play optimally it seems, so you can have some fun with Spirit Guardians or you can just get a different character for Bless upkeep.

I don't even need bless to clear the game xD I rarely even have a cleric in my party. Just wanted shadowheart for Grymforge since its a Sharran place.

Against a melee-oriented enemy formation that you can get into the area of effect, I'd absolutely consider it better than Bless.

The only caster I use is Shadowheart and you don’t even need a spell caster to play BG3.

Bless you child in your ignorance.

There is more than one character who can cast Bless or Spirit Guardians, so there's no reason you can't have both!

Spirit G is a good defensive spell for enemies that you know are going to swarm you, so melee enemies it's good for baring one melee dude that will stomp people.
Ranged and spell casters it's not as good for, especially if they are perched in different locations around the fighting area.
Everything has it's advantages and disadvantages.

It’s significantly better than bless.

My favorite build in DnD is a spirit guardian build for Arcana cleric. And it’s not used defensively at all. It’s a massively offensive spell if you so chose to use it that way

Can only comment on what exists in the game currently. Functionality of something that does not exist in the game as of this current EA will have to await an opinion from me when I can see some form of it, if it exists or not, in full release of the game.

Was just using it as an example. The OP explained how they were enjoying using it offensively if you want a direct BG3 reference

I'm referring to your reference of arcane cleric and using it offensively with whatever mechanic that type of cleric has. You can of course use the spell by just running over to a group of enemies, though that can both make using it odd as well as put your character in potential danger, so I feel it's a little better and safer to use as a defensive minded spell when you get more swarmed or you know it's going to happen.

i dont think bless is all that great. i mean it takes up your concentration, and its only giving you a little bit better chance to hit, thats just, not great. because you'll probably just roll a 1. or you'll roll two 1's. or you'll roll so high you dont even need it. idk, luck is so fickle in dnd that i think trying to up your odds is just pointless. ive seen players with all 20s in their stats still fail every roll. so yeah. i'd rather have something thats guaranteed damage instead of something that -might- do -something-. also, 10 minutes is literally forever in a dungeon though i dont know how its implemented in BG3.

Bless is roughly 10% better accuracy and 10% better saves for 3 people. That is a quite powerful for a level 1 spell slot.
