Food buffs are possible since they existed in Larian's previous game.
There are some rare games where I did think it was pretty great due to immersion reasons, such as Metro Exodus where we can visibly see weapons become dirtier and requiring maintenance.
But in other games where it's just numbers going down and a one-click button to go away for some trivial gold... no thank you, it's just useless and adds nothing.
In fact, one food 'buff' (healing) has already been removed.
except that magical dagger in meat over the camp fire.. that some how breaks if you fail the roll...
That's actually a really good point.
What?
they should get rid of food completely and restore health after battles. There is no day/night cycle. If they wanted to use food, they should have gone full open world where it makes sense.
