Okay, serious question: What is this assertion based on? Because I was under the impression that all DnD novels are, in fact, canon unless stated otherwise. Furthermore, I thought most Drow society canon was actually directly a result of how R.A. Salvatore characterized it in his various books, notably the Homeland trilogy.
Absolutely no disrespect here I'm just posting the facts. Just for the record I don't agree with the OPs topic here either.
