I kill Lae'zel everytime I start a new game
She is super unlikeable that I will never side with her and end up killing her or going different directions.

I have been watching lore videos about the Githyanki, which made me like Lae'zel more than before. You have to understand where she comes from to know why is she so rude.

The Githyanki are a warrior race who despise all the other races, all their children are groomed to be deadly warriors. Becasue of that, all traits related to kindness or compassion are consider "weak".
On top of that, after the dissapearence of Gith, Vlaakith took power and became the supreme leader of the Githyanki. She is a mad queen whose only porpuse in life is to become a god, so she has created a cult of personality around her among the githyanki to be revered as such. Those who don't follow her, or just become too powerful to be controlled, are inmediately killed, so dissent is no posible for the Githyanki.

Lae'zel is just a product of that society. In fact, she seems nicer than other Githyanki, who just kill anyone unless they are somewhat useful. Her entire life has been devoted to serve Vlaakith and become a dragon knight to fight in her honor. Yet, she got infected with the tadpole and she is on the verge of becoming the worst enemy of the Githyanki, this truly terrifies her.

In my opinion, when she says that the Githyanki knight you encounter is a traitor and she is the one following protocol, I really believe she has been lied to and the knight is doing what is expected of him. I think we will be able influence Lae'zel and bring her to see the truth about Vlaakith and redeem herself.

I'm not a DnD expert, but I don't think there has ever been a Githyanki character like her who joins you throughout your adventure. The fact that one of them is working with you, instead of trying to kill you, makes her quite interesting.
You've pretty much hit all the important points. A lot of Lae'zel's character and her quests-so far at least- are all about exposing people to what the Githyanki are, what they generally do to everyone else and how dangerous they are.

If you abandon her after she runs to the patrol and then long rest, you,ll even find her dead and the Githyanki patrol gone, which shows that they are ruthless even towards their own.

I do also think that Lae'zel is being incredibly naive about her own people. She reveals she has never been 'Among the Tears' for starters. The Dragonrider also calls her 'child' so both these points combined give the impression that Lae'zel is-relative to her race- young.
And when she discovers her place on the social hierarchy, she lashes out and clearly goes through a phase of denial.

Even before that, she dreads becoming an Illithid, the nemesis of the Gith race and being a failure to the Lich Queen.

All in all, Lae'zel -despite her being undoubtedly a Githyanki in every way- is one of the more interesting companions.

I'm really eager to see how Lea'zel develops, there are many questions regarding Gith and Vlaakith and how the later took over control of the githyanki after Gith´s disappearence.

We can only guess, but that gith artifact seems so important that Vlaakith has sent some of her best knight to bring it back. Hopefully this game will reveal some of the misteries regarding the gith in DnD lore.

And this seems to be the driving force behind Lae'zel´s story. I have no doubts she will eventually have a revelation about Vlaakith and her position in gith society. She may not be the best companion, but it's significance will probably be very importat.

Do you use any mods? Other than graphic/visual ones, which don't have any impact on combat of course.

no just graphical ones, i've used gameplay ones in the past none that i would have been utilized during the killing of ethel which i am assuming is why you're asking.

My method of killing her each time hasn't been very different, speed potion, wyvern poison from nettle, Ilmater's Aid, etc just do as much damage as possible before she gets the chance to do anything, although a couple of times where i wasn't particularly interested in her loot, ill just put her in the hole.

Well done. :)

yep even her own find Lae'zel idiotic and obnoxious, in one word a bi__h. hehe they do the same thing op does lol and most players that know what a good character is. A Silver lining with Lae'zel it seems.

What you keep saying about bg 2 Jon one of the most iconic villains in rpgs of all times is just absurdity. If there was no Jon you woudnt be playing bg 3 right now.

BTw no clue why you keep playing RPgs that you dislke and use character that you hate that's like self-torture and not something most players do for obvious reason. Normally you just dont use them simple as that.

And again that's why we kill her cos for most people shes pain in the ass obnoxious.

At this point shes a joke and gets killed just cos of that reason alone that and armor the only good thing about that character..

yeah shes like a punching bag after a log day at work you start bg 3 and kill her on the ship. Like i said we need more ways to kill her. cos pushing her off the ship is getting oldl.

Turning her into mind flayer would be cool or making her into a intellect devourer soemthing along those line maybe a sacrificing her at somekind of alter for extra stats that would work as well.

It would be cool if there was somewhere a cult that was doing a ritual to one of the archdevils or something and you have the option of offering one of your companions as a sacrifice. In return you could get some powerful demonic abilities, a free level up, extra stats, permanent resistance to fire, etc.

I said Irenicus is a trash character because he's a poorly written villain with a stupid plan. You could replace him with a jellyfish and it would be more interesting.

Not sure I could quote it all from memory, think I remember more of the speech when he's captured

Anyway I'm not sure I'll defend Irenicus as the best plotted villain ever, but he's mysterious, well voice acted, powerful, sinister, and the soul stealing works well with making the story about the player character and an exploration of the bhaalspawn curse.

He's a great villain more than a great character if that makes sense.

like i said your comment said it all and proved him wrong just fine.. if it was intentional or not make no difference.

and his not a companion yes so the interaction with the players are totally diffrent cos of it, you would think that much is clear...

Party wide interaction in bg 3 could be better. Right now the best thing about Lae'zel is how Shadowheart hates her and is basically the only real party interaction you get in game so far.

After waching Honor among thieves the other day, it just reminded me how super light bg3 is on full party wide interaction and dynamics.

If it wasn't for the exploration random DA:O like party banter they would hardly be any at all.

Looks to be a downside of COop i guess.

If you're not going to offer any actual counterpoints like Quillithe did and instead just insult me then we're not having this conversation.
