- A druid (Jaheira). With, maybe, some fighter levels.
- A ranger (minsc). As a strength based character and, probably but not sure: one or some use of barbarian rage.
I really hope that Jaheira doesn't have fighter levels, it would make for an awkward build in 5e in a way that wasn't the case in 2e. She could reasonably be a Moon Druid and swap between spellcasting and brawling in animal form.
My only reference is the file "heroes of baldur's gate" where you have most of the characters from the bhaalspawn saga with their stats. It did not indicate what is the class levels of the characters and they are, basically, presented in the same way a monster would be presented in the monster manual.
So i have her stats. She got 10d8 and she his considered as a level 5 spell caster (with a list of druid spells). She can use two attacks by round with her staff.
It's kind of a mix (fighter ability [multiattack] and druid spells). If Larian is building her upon this reference she very might have some fighter levels.
They might just join for some quests and be in camp like Halsin, Volo and the gnome.
I think there was datamined Helia and Karlach, they have player tags.
I think it's more likely those will be full companions.
If we're talking about the same content, that's unofficial, fan-made stuff. It contains a lot of odd non-canon choices, such as Imoen being a vampire and Xzar being some weird clone, among other departures. I don't think it would be on Larian's radar to be used as a template for updated versions of the characters.
Like... if you romanced her in BG2, will that get somehow acknowledged? Or just ignored?
Or are they gonna follow the horrible BG novels canon, with the Abdel relationship?
Why would that matter? It would have been a short-lived fling over a century ago and not directly relevant to the plot at hand, they don't need to acknowledge it at all.
