Facial piercings . . .why ?

For reasons unknown my character has suddenly developed facial piercings and I was wondering is there a reason for it other than a glitch and also is it possible to edit charecter cosmetics after the enitial charecter creation ?

There is not. You can change looks of it, but You cannot get rid of it. At least it was the case yesterday, I dunno if patch changed it.

When I choose a animal heart, it gave me the no piercing option. You just have to scroll through the piercing options when you choose a animal heart. It could've been an added feature. I'd advise talking to Withers and re-rolling your class, that way you can pick the no piercing option.

Your exp will carry over, so no worries about that.

I created a mage and now i have ear rings and a piercing in the right eyebrow. Why?

Were you playing a Barbarian and chose the Wildheart subclass?
Then that would explain it, they get piercings based on their totem animal. You did get the option of removing them when you picked it but I suppose you kinda blizted through it. :P

Even if you choose to remove them, when you level up once more, they are automatically added again, at least for that's how it is me.
