Facial piercings . . .why ?

For reasons unknown my character has suddenly developed facial piercings and I was wondering is there a reason for it other than a glitch and also is it possible to edit charecter cosmetics after the enitial charecter creation ?

Were you playing a Barbarian and chose the Wildheart subclass?
Then that would explain it, they get piercings based on their totem animal. You did get the option of removing them when you picked it but I suppose you kinda blizted through it. :P

There's a bug with the Draconic Sorcerer's scales showing up on level up, even though one chose 'no scales' at character creation. There may be a similar problem with the Barbarian's piercing, you might want to report it to Larian.

Cheers guys I was indeed playing as the barbarian and chose the wild heart subclass but I didn't "blitz" through it I was at work playing it on my steam deck and I didn't have glasses at hand, the ingame font it titchy asf lol

it happened to me too i load up my game and suddenly i have a nose piercing.
can it be removed ?

as of yet I am unsure if it can be removed or not

Same here,I m playing with an ugly nose piercing now...
I dont know if there is a way to reface my character

You could try to spend 100 gold and respecc your class, see if it resets since the piercings exclusively are from the wildheart subclass.

Barbarian gets piercings if you pick wildheart and draconnic sorcerer gets scales unless you choose to hide them when picking the class.

You can choose styles of nose rings when picking the wildheart sub class. You can also choose to have no rings.

I just tryied it but I dont have "no piercing option" I can only choose tiger/eagle/bear/wolf/moose or peasant piercing (peasant piercing put a ring on my nose)

Yes you can talk to withers and re select your class at any time

I'm pretty sure that there is a no piercing option. In fact, I'm certain of it, if you're talking about the barbarian.
