My biggest gripe with sorcerer.
Abberant mind is like... the most tailor made sorc spec for this campaign, and its not in the game. i get you can get it via mods, but mother of god- its like the ideal role playing sorc spec for BG3. This is a 10/10 would larian again spec that they really need to add.

An alien influence has wrapped its tendrils around your mind, giving you psionic power. You can now touch other minds with that power and alter the world around you by using it to control the magical energy of the multiverse. Will this power shine from you as a hopeful beacon to others? Or will you be a source of terror to those who feel the stab of your mind and witness the strange manifestations of your might?

As an Aberrant Mind sorcerer, you decide how you acquired your powers. Were you born with them? Or did an event later in life leave you shining with psionic awareness? Consult the Aberrant Origins table for a possible origin of your power.

Like seriously, even its one of the pre-canned origins!

You were implanted with a mind flayer tadpole, but the ceremorphosis never completed. And now its psionic power is yours. When you use it, your flesh shines with a strange mucus.

Would be a tragedy for larian to not put this as the 3rd sorc spec.

Technically, all characters with a parasite are already 'aberrant minds' in addition to their class, so in a sense you are getting that for free! :steamhappy:
Also, I'd much rather have Shadow Sorcery as a subclass.

Yeah, 5e's supplemental subclasses in general are damn good, compared to the PHB content. it's unfortunate that we're not getting it from the official release.
look at it this way
if they did add it, you'd be losing features for no reason.
because you already can communicate with people telepathically which is the main feature of the build, and you already have that, so getting it again would be pointless and thus, you'd actually be getting nothing.

you'd get some extra spells which is nice, you could change that with mods if you want.

other than that you wont gain anything until level 6 which lets you cast spells with sorcery points, which is pointless because you can already turn points into spell slots. Elves resist charm and you can get a piece of armor to resist psychic damage. So the only thing you can't do is get the ability to resist being frightened.

The other features dont kick in until 14 and 18, and we dont even know if we're getting to level up that high.

So honestly as cool as it would be you wouldnt really get anything that you cant already get.

However. I think they could add abberant mind and have it just synergize with your tadpole, make it different and unique. but, the tadpole powers already sort of do that by expending as you progress the storyline with your tadpole.

we could always hope to get new stuff later on, as dlc or mod.

What I like is how the Wild Magic Sorcerer works in BG3, I'd like those surges on my P&P Character. The WMS is unfortunately a very old barely really reviewed Subclass with SO much potential and, at least for me, it's the quintessential, the real Sorcerer...

This actually is a pretty good point. We may not have it as mechanical class features, but we have a limited telepathy and whatever special powers the tadpole already gives you. Aren't we all Abberant Minds at this point?

Yah I actually think that works terribly. It would mean you’re an aberrant mind PRIOR to the mindflayer abduction. Too redundant, too conflicting

The game literally starts with you being infected just prior to creation. all this would be is leaning into that.
