Surfaces are such an important thing in DOS2 that not having them is a game changer imo
BG3 is BG3. It's that simple.
Didn't even mention the minor fact all 3 use entirely different mechanics and two of them are based on versions of D&D with something to the tune of 30 years of development between them.
Might was well complain that Fallout 3 was nothing like Fallout 2 or that D20 even exists at all.
