Improvement for Masterwork Weapons
By the time we are able to get the Sussur Bark from the Underdark for the Masterwork weapons, we already have magical items that have better damage ranges AND bypass resistance to normal attacks. The Masterwork weapons are almost useless for the work that is put into them.

However, if there was a future quest in Baldur's Gate or somewhere else where we could subsequently enchant our Masterwork weapons, it would be worth it. Otherwise they are vendor trash.

It is a very mixed bag as to whether magic weapons have enhancement bonuses or not, in the Tabletop game the following weapons don't have one (it was more than I expected)
Dancing Sword, Flame Tongue (the grown up version of Everburn), Frost Brand, Javelin of Lightning, Mace of Disruption, Mace of Terror, Oathbow, Sword of Lifestealing, Sword of Sharpness, Sword of Wounding, Trident of Fish Command and Vicious Weapons. That is slightly more than 1/3 of the weapon in the SRD (System Reference Document). I think that since bounded accuracy (the notion that bonuses to hit and ACs shouldn't go too nuts) is a core concept of 5th edition, they have been much more stingy with giving out pluses.

And that's GREAT! Bounded Accuracy is the thing I love most about 5e. It's genius.

Sure, there are better weapons when it comes to damage, but the Sussur Bark weapons Silence on hit.

Silence
Any creature or object entirely inside the sphere is immune to thunder damage, and creatures are deafened while entirely inside it. Casting a spell that includes a verbal component is impossible there.

Of the hundreds of spells in the book, there are ~18 that aren't verbal. Most of them are cantrips, and/or suck or are useless in combat.

This! and thats why my assassin will have a sussar blade because a killing weapon of silence sounds pretty freaking cool xD
Alternatively a fighter with one of those flowers on them at all times was kinda funny i just walked around with an aura of Sush! lol

Find Highcliff's house in the Blighted Village. There's a journal near the fireplace that starts the quest and a chest containing the blueprints.
Then you need to find Sussur tree bark in the Underdark, take it to Highcliff's forge and combine it with either a dagger, a sickle or a greatsword.
Click on the furnace to start it, use the bellows to make a bigger flame, place bark and weapon inside the furnace and combine them.

I wish we had more weapon options when creating a Shush-shush weapon. A longsword would be hella dope.

yeah classic boring desing of carrying that "one" weapon on the off chance that you gonna need it... hehe that was fine in 2000 But we could do with a bit more in 2023... but ok.

A weapon that silences on-hit isn't exactly something you carry around "just in the off-chance" you need it. It's immediately useful in any fight with casters or creature with spellcasting capabilities. Which is a lot of them.

You want boring, we can just pay attention to the damage numbers and just go full WoW with it. Mm, it's so much fun when doing 30million damage doesn't mean anything anymore.
yeah like? name a few in bg 3 EA they are rare and even those that do cast stuff they dont really do much at all...So it doesn't really matter at that point better of with more damage and there are other ways to deal with them IF somehome they would be a threat..

And even if i ignore all that and make a choice and say ok ill use it.

It's a well known fact that casters enimies are rare in rpgs... hance it is on the off chance that i see them.

What better dagger are you using, exactly? There are a few good ones, but this one is definitely up there. A rogue will simply murder any caster, straight up. And most classes have magic abilities that it cancels as well.

The two best daggers in the game are a Sussur dagger and the Ritual Dagger, and a Rogue should be wielding both!

it would be great i would prefer they would make better items with more then just one stat.. a bit less powerfull on the first buff.

But more of them later down the line when you reforge - remake a weapon with new ingredients wahtever those may be..

That way cool LOOKing weapons don't get wasted just cos a better stats come with a the new weapon. A poors man reskin if you will.

Damage isn't the only thing noteworthy about weapons. Sometimes it's about utility.

And boy howdy does the Sussur weapon have utility.

Excuse you?! This is RPG based on D&D 5E rule set, not another reused action game.

yeah and so? what doest that have to do with anything?

Most rpgs have this problem. And items Bg 3 are no diffrent.
In bg 3 items are homebrewed by larian in away that have nothing to do with 5e in the first place.. or that of Dnd..

OR maybe i missed Lightning Charges or the horrific 50% hp items in DND.

That only work when you are missing health (like that is suppose to balance anything ) lol worst items ever and other gimmics like that.

I just pointed out a problem with items in rpgs and Dellecross suggestion fixes that nicely.

COs items would have way better value over the span of the whole game. So if you actullty like an item you could do something and keep it longer...

You’re def doing it wrong.

Use the susser bark to make a dagger. It gives you a +1 dagger that silences on hit.

Now put that dagger in a rogues offhand (Astarion or PC)

Now your offhand attacks silence the enemy
