If you buy the game now you can play the entierty of Act I-that means areas we sitll cnanot access in the EA like the Mountain Pass- with the features of the full game 72 hours earlier. Then you can continue into Act II 3 days later when the game has it's official launch. Buying it now also nets you the Deluxe Edition for free.
You also get access to the Early Access right now but there's not really much of a point.

So if you're going to buy it anyway you might as well just get it now. Don't even need to play the EA, just treat it as another pre-order.

The Deluxe Edition really only comes with the headstart to the game as well as some items inspired by Divinity 2, such as Fane's Mask of the Shapeshifter.

72 hrs early access to the release version, but limited to Act 1 until August 31 release. Your saved games in the "72 hr" early access, will be playable when the game fully releases.
Buy now, play later.

Buy now, learn mechanics and stop if you fear to ruin your full game experience.
On a side note this is a very good game both on tech and narrative side.
Probably only game worth to replay multiple times during the 2 years EA.

What do those items do?

Well the face changer if it functions like Fanes does in divinity would bascially be a free cast of disguise self, it was used to make undead appear anything else but undead, because undead are feared and attacked on sight in divinity.
As far as the other items? we dont know one is a dagger that will have the appearance of the "needle" in DoS2, one is a cape inspired by the red prince, also a Bicorne from the dwarf, and a lute from Loshe, one for each character on DoS2. The only one that is even hinted with an ability is the mask though so we dont know till we see them. i imagine nothing crazy special though.

If you asked this question about a year ago I would say "yes, you can get it now", however with only few months till the release I would suggest waiting for the full release and reviews in the steam.

Unless one wants to play 3 days early and get the Deluxe version free.

My advice if you have a hard time waiting would be in this case getting it about a week early rather then right now, that would still get you the 3 days early and you only need to wait a few days... Its gonna be hard for me cuz my favorite franchise reboot is coming the 25th now haha ARMORED CORE!!! WOOT but ill play both the only 2 games i wanna play this year.

wait. you get a few hours of play time and then are halted until they feel they r ready to release the rest. i mean even after the millions they made with the last two games they have to release another EA game and let is linger for years. worse practice in gaming right here folks.

What? It's only a 3 day early access wait for EA players before the release for all on August 31. But it will be the full version of Act 1. Saves made during that 3 days will carry over to the full game. There will be plenty to do in those 3 days. More than enough for most players.

I guess for those who live in their parent's basement and/or having nothing to do but play video games, it may not last them very long. Odds are for myself, I will not even be done with Act 1 when the full game is playable.

Hey im disabled i have literally all the time i want and 25+ hours of game in 3 days would be rough haha an 8 hour play session even broken across the day is pretty hard to pull off let alone 3 days in a row.
However they seem to mostly be impatient they hit up a lot of chats and left similar comments, not sure what happened honestly but hey life gets to us all sometimes xD

I only buy early release/beta games if it is a HUGE exception, like something i CDANNOT wait for. I am kinda against the trend of EA and paid beta because I feel like companies are getting "Free" labor out of it, so to speak.

So Based on my own opinions, id ask how badly youre dying to play bg3. I was dying to play so its worth it to me. Otherwise id wait.
