They've done a great deal of work on Goblins already. It may be the most likely addition of a monstrous race, if they're willing to do the extra work needed to make it mesh with the starting area.
I would love to play a goblin, a goblin necromancer is my 2nd pick.
The mod covers goblins & they can wear all the armor sets but it would be nice to have them officially so i wouldn't have to worry about the mod author no longer working on said mod.
Like i feel like ogres should also be a playable race officially since they have both genders portrayed in the game & they look amazing, granted all the models looking pretty good from what i've seen.
I also wouldn't mind monstrous companions, honestly just being able to have a whole monster party would make me delighted. ogre,goblin/gnoll,bugbear & a hag would be ideal for me if i couldn't have a living minotaur.
#5 goes into that & somewhere on page 1 i bring up the bethesda point & Larian studios has been pretty cool,So i can see them do something like that
That said, I believe you are shamelessly trying to shill for a mod (perhaps you are the author?) but this is perhaps not the best place to advertise.
Guess you have to be sneaky about it to avoid being banned, so there is that.
1.Then it will be 13k players that wouldn't have to worry about the mod author ever getting bored of doing it.
2.Sure you can say i'm shilling for the mod because i'm tired of playing the basic b*tch races.
2.5.No i am not the author,I do not care to learn how to mod but i really like the idea of the mod. I'm not the one running around on a secondary lvl0 steam account being sneaky :P
3.Why would they get banned & from what? Everyone knows modders can get donations from their works
As for point one, who cares? Honestly.
As for point three, it's actually against the Steam rules to advertise on Steam forums.
The line is blurry on what is and isn't an advertisement, but since you're making a patently absurd ask here the more likely scenario is you are plugging this mod so more people download it. That is what advertising is literally for, so personally I think that's exactly what's happening here.
It's a much more generous interpretation than just assuming you're a child, I think.
Ok you're just here to be a troll,That came in with nothing but bad faith.
"who cares" the 13k people who enjoy the mod,Utterly stupid remark from you.
Sure if you want to stretch it,I am advertising a mod i really like.
To your last stupid point of me being a child for giving my thoughts on why i would like to see this mod integrated to the game,Don't care you are clearly a troll that wants to try to start something with your sub account. So i'm done with you.
Which yeah i can see it happen but they are using 5e for bg3 which the races i'm asking for like goblin, bugbear, minotaur, gnolls are playable races in 5e.
So all the races i would want to play as are already in the game, already a playable race in the phb of 5e. I'm just saying even if they only wanted to do a handful of races from the mod they go "hey send us the code & we'll shout you out" cuts down the work time for them by a lil bit(they would have to add dialogue for the npcs on your race choice) & the modder gets some recognition or they can do it the Bethesda way & pay him a little bit for some work.
Yes i'm willing to pay for this if they wanted to make it official if they ever decide to do it.
There are other races i wouldn't mind being added that are also 5e playable races, lizardfolk, orc, kenku, centaur(idk how that would work with the cells though) & aarakocra
I understand, there are other races I want to play too, like Goliath and Tabaxi, but as others have pointed out there's more to adding another race than just a model and some animations. The dialog trees would have to be expanded as well.
Larian has barely promised us the content in the PHB. Release won't have more than that, and hopefully it will have all of it.
The only way we're getting anything else is DLC post-release or mods. Of the two mods are the most likely.
Yeah that point of dialog tree for the races was pointed out to me & i fully agree with it as i said in my last post.
Yeah,I can't wait for the game to release.
Which i would be fine with paying for them dropping race packs, I only worry that modders will get bored of the mod they are working on that i like or for some reason be unable to work on it. That's my main reason why i would like to see it integrated.
I love playing as a monstrous character & having a full monster party. So as you said we can hope they will add in all the 5e playable races
With what's available in EA plus whatever PHB races will get added when the game comes out of EA, there is plenty of variety. Adding 47 more will just be overload, confusing to newbies and old farts like me.
Don't need it. If someone wants to play as a gnoll, let them install the mod. Keep the game clean.
It doesn't need to be the full 47,like some of the races are homebrewed or taken from other games like final fantasy. It can just be the races that already in the 5e PHB as playable races since they are using the 5e rule set but i will update that in the post.
The main one is if a mod is open sourced it becomes near impossible cuz they would have to seek everyone permission who have ever added to that mod as each one of them would have some creative work in the mod and all would have to give permission on a legal level so if its that its likely a nope.
The other is IP rights, this mod is adding stuff from the rest of DnD and they may not have permission from WoTC to use that property, a mod can get away with it cuz its free and no money is made, but a company like larian wont risk it if its not property it has the right to.
Another reason looking at the mod is the FFXIV cross over so clearly thats an automatic nope haha
A personal reason is NO TORTLE HOW DARE!!!!
