Avenge the Hag Survivors (Spoilers)

I met the survivors first and made the hag's bane before throwing it at Captain Grizly in the Blushing Mermaid (before going into the basement). Vanra was vomited up before Auntie Ethel escaped leaving me with redcaps to deal with upstairs.

After the combat, I spoke with Vanra who just cried for mommy before running into the basement. Is that supposed to happen? What kind of self-preserving child would run to the place of danger instead of running home?
