family library sharing with baldur's gate
I have the family library sharing with a friend specifically to let him play this game, and although at first it let him download it, when it was on 70% it stopped and where the option to play/download should be, it changed to a "buy", anyone who has done the family library thing or has any information can tell me if it is a mistake or just a game that can not be left through this option?

He can't use games in your library while you're also using games in your library.

I haven't opened steam in a while except to give him access, so that's not the case.

Do you have the family library sharing thing? Did it let you/your friend download Baldur's gate?

The person I share my library with is not into these games, so I don't know.

I did this to try the game without problems. I managed to completely download game, I created character and get through the ship. Next day I bought it.

BG3 is not excluded from Family Sharing so that would be abnormal behavior. Most likely something interrupted his access to your library in general such as launching a game on your account, closing steam, losing your internet connection or some weird bug that unlinked your PCs

Do note that Family Sharing is computer specific so you need to have Steam running on the same computer you linked your friend's account with and they can only access the library on the specific computer they used when you linked.

Do they have access to the rest of your library and can download other games normally?

He told me about the problem now. Yesterday when we did it, everything was fine, but today he told me that after telling me about Baldur's, the rest of the games don't appear, but in my settings it appears that I'm sharing them with him, and in his computer it appears the same in his account.

Yeah, I had that happen with a friend of mine I'm sharing too like a year or two ago. Never managed to find the cause but after failing to troubleshoot it for a few hours we just ended up going the true and tested way of "have you tried turning it off and on again?", aka we relinked the accounts, and it worked like a charm.

Because he didn't pay for it.
