what lvl should my characters be to be successful. lvl 3 and stuggling to get this completed

yeah level 4 or 5 would make it a lot easier. There's a lot to explore in the area, I'd suggest going elsewhere for a bit

You can technically do it at lvl 3. I would recommend trying to get at least one more level so you can get feats to boost your stats/abilities. It's really easy to cheese with stealth or barrelmancy though.

I usually stick to the rafters and use assassin type tactics with Astarion. You can take out 80% of the camp from height with very little resistance and you can usually keep it from spilling over into other areas using stealth. For Gut I start the fight with a silence spell and have her surrounded. She usually doesn’t even last 1 round. Lae’zel hits like a truck by level 3. I use disarming strike, menacing strike and pushing strike depending on the situation. Very few of the goblins can fight without their weapons or after being pushed into a chasm.

I recommend going back through the areas and completing some more quests, there is tons of stuff you have missed if you are only Level 3 at that point in the game. You should be around Level 4/5. If you are really struggling for quests etc don't be afraid to look up some guides if you really need it.

Take advantage of speech checks as well, not everything has to be a fight and there are many ways you can take on the Goblin Army. I was only around Level 3/4 fighting the leaders so its definitely possible.

Another thing is your class builds for you and your followers, if you keep missing and stuff like that, you might want to look into different setups. Withers can respec anyone for 100 gold.
