Is dual wielding ranger good?
I picked Ranger with the ranger knight kit and now at level 2 I picked two-weapon style and hunter's mark. Is dual wielding ranger strong or should I reroll while it's still early?

depends are you going for dual wield no matter what? are you going dex only?

ive gotten to the start of act 3 with one...
Two weapon fighting in D&D is weaker no matter what class is using it.

It is an "all in" melee type.... as opposed to sword 'n board. So... yes... depending on your playstyle. and how good you are with it

Because using the action economy for getting a free attack is somehow wrong? Pass whatever that is you are smoking

It depends. I don't think you are going to out dps a 2 hander or dual cross bows.

3 levels of thief would for sure help your dps with the extra bonus action.

If you are enjoying the 2 weapon style. Use it! :)

I built 17 dex and 16 wisdom to keep concentration for hunter's mark

Yes. There are some builds for dual-wielding hand crossbows that make one of the best DPS in the game for now.

Just today I accidentally equipped a second light crossbow on my bard player character. Absolutely changed my life for the better. Go for it.

What they said to be honest. Sharpshooter is very good.

and 2 hander has a bunch of powerful 2 handers in the game for some reason.

dual wield x bows is pretty good but has 1 problem there is a lack of good 1handed x bows in the game... So i tend to just go with whatever is most poweful at the time , but prefer 2 handed ranged weapon tbh.

the stance only affects meele for extra damage on offhand. If u absolutely going for 2 weapons fighting id suggest bard as they have a 2 hander stance anyway that u can pick. THey also got some meele abilities with bardic inspiration. Later you can change to a rapier wich does offhand attacks.

Concentration is a Constitution save and not based on your Wisdom.

It's good if you're dual wielding hand crossbows. Otherwise it's not as good as two-handed weapons.

The reason it's not good is because once you take Great Weapon Master you can deal way more damage per attack, you can get a bonus action attack anyway just from getting a crit or from getting a kill, and then there's the fact that two handed weapons just hit harder and with extra attack its not really worth it to get a bonus action attack for the price of losing damage on your other two attacks.

If you really want to dual wield I'd highly suggest grabbing three levels of rogue for thief so you can have two bonus actions and thus a second off hand attack. Also being able to dash for a bonus action really helps you get into melee range later on.

Early game (before level 5) it's not bad because you only have one attack anyway.

Interesting. Are bards good frontline fighters?

Damn, I misread then. My constitution is 14, is wisdom still useful?

I think DEX dual wielder build are quite good. You can dual wield finesse light weapons and dual wield hand crossbows which make them very good at melee and range while having very good AC.

The problem is you kinda want 3 levels of rogue / thief to get a extra bonus action for your offhand.

I have a Thief/Gloomstalker build that runs dual hand crossbows, and it is absurdly strong.

Originally, I was using a long bow, but once I got the very rare hand crossbow after defeating Raphael's Enemy, I made the swap and did not regret it.

I think it's pretty fun, and it looks cool.
Probably best with a multiclass to thief for extra bonus attack, or champion for crit range+ action surge.
