Becoming an Oathbreaker in Act 2 and Act 3
Gday.
Out of curiousity, how would one become an Oathbreaker during act 2/3?
While I am specifically in Act 2, and an Oath of Vengeance Paladin, I want to expand this question to both Act 2 and 3, as well as all 3 Oaths.
So how can/did you do it?
(One of the catalysts of this is that I was playing Multiplayer with friends in Act 1, and did stuff that 100% should have turned me Oathbreaker, but didnt)

Oath of vengeance is the hardest to break naturally. If you get an option to spare some baddie for via dialogue, do it.

If you have choice where you pick between sides, choose the more evil one.

Killing an innocent should work too tho.

See what amusing is that I thought killing an innocent, or harming an innocent, would do it.
Last night I decided to go full goblin mode, and tried to kill the kid being lured in by the Harpies. Knocked out the kid (seems killing kids aint a thing in this game). No oath broken (was Ancients at the time). Then I intimidated the bird around the nest in the druid grove, for sure thinking I would go oathbreaker. Nothing.

As Ancients, attacking tieflings that captured Laezel should do the trick

True, but the party decided to kill Laezel and not worry about the tieflings (we are an odd bunch)
But for now the goal is within my current playthrough. How one becomes in later acts after the initial chances have gone away

Ask Withers to respec you, choose Oath of Devotion, kill an innocent or be evil in general. GGEZ

Dont know that for sure. I broke my oath early on because I didnt convince the tieflings to leave and it collided with my character's morality.

I should protect life, Yet saving Laezel from the cage when tieflings are refusing to accept a non-violent way breaks it....Oathbreaker it is. Im playing dark urge anyway xD

Yeah.. Doesn't always work.
I killed an Ox and Steelclaw in Act 2, didn't break the Oath..
I have Animate Undead.. So I raised a skeleton - didn't break the Oath.
I killed the Blue Jay at the Rosemont Monastery.. Didn't break the Oath.

And the Oath specifically says to preserve life and not killing neutral animals.. So... Yeah....... It is super inconsistent when it considers something oathbreaking..

What? I just killed a child last night. Maybe you had non-lethal attacks enabled?

There's a monster in a windmill basement in rivington right at the beginning of act 3.
Giving it a corpse to eat will break vengeance oath. Used it myself when I made Wyll a paladin in act 3
