Early in the game, there is a fight with bandits at the overgrown temple, inside at the chapel entrance. I usually drop the stone block but enter through the normal door. This sets up the bandits so they're all in the same room, with most of them around an oil barrel.
Most of the time I'll have one of the characters hit that barrel with a firebolt, which causes a small explosion and immediately kills 2 of the bandits and seriously injures another.
However, one time I was seeing how well I would do with a single character, and only had a monk that did not have firebolt. So I just whipped a lit torch at the barrel. It still popped and spread fire damage, but it was significantly less. Maybe a few points of damage to those that got hit and some burning. I think in one of the attempts some of the flaming debris actually flew across the room and struck my character for a bit of damage and burning. It's been a while and I haven't done any testing, so maybe something changed between plays.
