Duke Ravengard *Act 3 Spoilers*
So I broke Wyll's pact in return for his Father's life. I read online that you can still rescue him from a prison later, but is there a time limit? I'm aware there's a time limit once you enter the prison but I'm looking to avoid going there until much later since I want to do the rest of Act 3 first. Apparently Gortash turns on you once you rescue the prisoners.

Can I avoid the prison and rescue him at any point later or what's the cut off? Does he get executed at some point?

He does die at some point but I'm unsure when exactly due to wyll, typically he dies if you long rest after finding the submersible but i'm unsure if wyll's quest changes that.

Main reason I want to rescue his Father is for the Ansur boss, which I believe you can only do if he lives. (supposedly) Not the kind of boss I want to fight with my little Level 10 party.

I've played a few playthroughs where I don't rescue wyll's father and was still able to fight Ansur.

It shouldn't lock you out of doing the fight IIRC, nor should it force you into fighting him so you should be able to do it either way.

Admittedly, I got a bit tired of the fact that "Non_lethal Damage" doesn't do anythign, no use for rope for potential prisoners, etc.

My Scenario: I decided to completely avoid the coronation and do my thing to try and set up stuff. My character was not going to make a deal with Gortash and so I would prepare otherwise. I wanted the factory destroyed. Well, I go to the Ironhands, get their bomb, learn of the Submersible, went to the Iron Throne, released the Ghondians (All of them) from the Iron Throne, come back, go to the Foundry, save the Ghondians, Destroy the Factory with the Runebomb, by now anyone in the coronation is hostile. Well FINE! I do a direct fight against the entire coronation ceremony, but didn't want to kill the Duke.

So, I killed/knocked out everyone else. I know that the non-lethal is, effectively killing them mechanically, so what do I do? I keep the Duke, not only alive, but active. He's still trying to kill my party. But I evade him and leave battle. He's alive, barely a scratch on him.

I go to Mizora and... She says he's dead. Excuse me? I explicitly did NOT kill him (And if I go back to the throne room, there he is with murder in his eyes.)

There should be some other things done to prevent these kind of crazy disconnects. Maybe just have him shown dead with the parasite having eaten his brain or something. SMH.
