Thoughts on House of Hope
Genuinely curious what everyone thinks of this encounter? Thought it was pretty good minus the intermediate portion where your fighting the stupid servants with the boulder running around. Take that stupid part out and could be great, but that parts just make it stupidly annoying. Especially since it doesnt matter what you do as Raphael is always there at the end. Another overdesign by Larian in my mind (at least that part). That said was definitely fun overall.

I thought it was better written and designed than the rest of Act 3.

Well.. I think out of the entire creepy theme of that city in Act 2 this one is the creepiest. Hint: if you're sensitive, DON'T go convincing doctor about the need to demonstrate Shar's teachings on himself. It gives me chills several days later.

It's definitely not my thing - but luckily, it's only one place in the entire game so far.

I liked it. It was a good design, and a challenging enough fight on balanced difficulty that I had to try a second attempt, but not so much that I had to rethink my team composition and equipment in a big way.

What I ended up doing is I convinced the big demon sidekick to help me, and I retreated my people behind to the hall closing the door behind me. I managed to kill the help by kiting them that way, and most of them were taken out by the time the sidekick went down.

You can first get the nurses to work before you get the doctor to work. Extra messed up.

And I love the music at the end of House of Hope. Just feels so right for there.

Id agree with that lol. Act 3 is kinda killing my desire for another playthrough.

The fight with Raphael is my second favorite in the entire game.

Yeah, times like this make me regret I left the default option of "adult" content in the game. I'm perfectly fine with "naughty" stuff but viscera and gore and scenes like what's happening in the House of Hope have caught me mentally unprepared. Oh well.

EDIT: House of HOPE, not HEALING. Dang. Time to sleep. 4AM here. /offtopic, sorry

Raphaels actual fight is really good I'd agree. Out of curiosity what did you think of the part right before it with the boulder and the servants? I think the House of Hope would be better overall if that simply wasnt there. Still a great encounter and one of the best in act 3

It was a non-thing. I wouldn't care if they cut it completely but it wasn't that big of a deal.

The Fight was 1 of the best in the game. Glad I had some sleep potions on me{first time I ever used them and my casters needed the rest before the fight} And was surprise by the music lol! But in the end....down he want and got allllll the goodies that came with going there.

It's there to make you waste spells before the main fight since you can't rest.
Was glad I had sleep potions I never used in the game.....

The bath refreshes your spell slots. You can use it infinitely.

The fire boulders are the only fun part about House of Hope. Without the boulders, it's literally no different from any other section of the game.

The house of Hope was amazing, design wise especially. Made me wish I could explore Avernus.
