Tactician Mode is not what was promised?
I can't believe I'm saying this but how am I able to beat Tactician Mode?!
I have basic knowledge of the base game (2 playthroughs) and somehow that's enough so far with a decent party setup (pala/cleric/thief/sorc).

The guy who's responsible for the balance promised "extra spice" for every encounter and while enemie's armor/life/attack and some moves sure seem "harder", I'm still waiting for an AHA-moment :-/ I'm a little let down.

I just unga bunga through every encounter and it works. I just spam whatever spell seems cool at the time and I still rip apart bosses on tactician even when using mods that buff the bosses and a mod that increases all enemy health on Tactician difficulty by 60% This game is one of the easiest rpgs ive ever played.

Literally half the difficulty of tactician mode is just enemies having slightly higher save DC's, more hp, and then some gimmick like you have to hit them so many times before you can damage them or they're immune to being shoved.

That's literally it.

Encounters definitely do have unique mechanics compared to Balanced. Extra abilities, legendary resistances, or extra enemies.

That said, there are a lot of poorly implemented mechanics that don't follow 5e rules that break the game. Haste, Tavern Brawler, dual crossbows, warlock extra attacks, thief bonus action, potions as bonus actions, and probably some more.

Tactician difficulty is lame. There is not dice skew just whiners and cry babies. It only adds some increase on hp of bosses and a +30% on all others. It is super weak.

They need an honor mode with limited long rest zones. Added enemy damage, added enemy gear, added enemy counts. You get the idea.

The only way to make the game playable above tactician / tour mode is to mod the game. Thankfully the game is super easy to mod by anyone...

Larian is terrible at combat, encounter design,.game mechanics.

They're good at stuffing lots of cinematics and voiced dialog into games, but that's about it.

Well you're 100% wrong. The basic encounters are anything but terrible - it's the Tactician difficulty that dissapoints.

During the Panel From Hell they specifically mentioned that Tactician won't just add more health/Armor/attack to enemies but that is exactly what they did.

So far the hardest part of this game is fighting the camera.

You know absolutely nothing. Embarrassing statement.

Oh my god this so hard.
When I was doing the fight at the entrance to Bhaal's temple I was having so much trouble getting the camera to actually pan up so I could target the guys above me.

New games are just getting easier and easier, nothing new, but sad they didn't include difficulty for veterans for this game.

"Aha!" is basically "I see!" in german.

In English, it's more understood as an "Eureka!" Lightbulb clicking on over head.
What would be an "AHA!" moment you're looking for?

Well some new mechanic/setup - this is what the devs promised (reworked encounters).

Funnily enough I just had the first encounter in a long while which does.
Fighting the Githaynki boss before you meet their godess - I'm pretty certain (already did the encounter 2 times on Normal) his permanent AC-drain AoE only happens in that mode. That was pretty unexpected/neat bc. it gave that boss some "identity".

I think half the problem is baked in from d&d, it's all too easy to break the game balance with multiclassing and buff stacking.

If you want a challenge then you're better off giving self imposed challenges, going for thematic rather than minmaxed builds for example, and not using the elixirs.
