Gender/pronoun bug?
I now noticed that my character is addressed as female. But I chose the male option. I have now restarted everything and created a new hero. But again he is addressed as a woman. Is there a solution for this bug? I don't use mods and have the latest patch. Or is this simply a translation error in the German version?

when you say 'male option' do you mean you just picked a masculine body type? or you picked male in the 'identity' tab

Yeet your character off a cliff and start a new game.

you need to change BodyType in order to change your actual sex

It's not a bug, it's a feature.
The future is now!

you first have to change your body type to male, then your identity to male, and then choose a male voice. Because otherwise it would be too easy...
this is legit more complicated than it had any right to be, the options are scattered all over the place. I made many characters so far and still i can never tell if i selected everything the way i wanted to by the time my character wakes up on the ship

Yes they should simply had defaulted male / female / other, so you will get male body, male voice and male gens if you choose male, and you can select whatever you want if you choose "other" But it is what it is.
I don't know what game you two are playing, but the "default" genitals correspond to the body type. Selecting a body type also automatically changes the voice and identity for me. If this isn't happening to you, your games might be bugged.

-changing gens has no impact on anything

thats what the character editor does.

So no the default gens do not correspond to the body type. Id corresponds to Identitiy selection and changing body type does not change voice.
Check in your game again before making this claims.

EDIT: You are right as long as you do not click anything else before changing the body type. after that it is as i described
Well, I always select the body type first, since it's the most prominent cosmetic choice. I'm guessing the devs were expecting everyone would do the same.

I chose a male body. I also chose a male voice. Then a penis and the identity option set to male. Nevertheless, I am addressed as female in the dialogues. I've even deleted everything and started a new campaign...
But that hasn't changed anything. Do you have a solution?

Then you need to wait for a fix. I've been addressed with female pronouns during one conversation, but that was it. It wasn't too big of a deal, so I just ignored it.

So if it's just a bug that happens in some conversations. So if you're just addressed wrong. Then I don't care. But I'm now worried that my gender is stored incorrectly and that it will have an impact on romances etc. later. I don't know if it's just a mistake in the translation.

I play in the German version too and I can not remember seeing this kind of things happen.

Your gender only affects how other characters refer to you, as far as I know. Even if it's stored incorrectly, it should only affect conversations.

I play with the English version, for the record.

You could submit a feedback if it is important enough for you that you want it fixed in the future

I reported it once. If anyone notices any errors in the German translation, we can collect them here.
