As far as the hobbits went, Samwise was a warrior. The most willing to throw down among them, easily.

Maybe a Fighter with Subclass Champion.

Attributs to 1. Condition, 2. Dex for finesse weapons like short sword.

That would be an nice run, have fun.

For those who played Dark Souls, the class that could be is the marginated. For now i make an explorer halfling forticor with a small sword without bow

There are no guns, so you can't make Samwise Gungee. A halfling artificier who specializes in duel-wielding pistols with a heavy affinity for pipeweed and large meals.

I'd probably Make Sam an oath of Devotion paladin, so his Aura could help the entire party. Medium armor, sword and board with duelling. There's a +2 shortsword late in Act 1 that would be perfect.
