1- Ah so Auntie Ethal's hair us just suppose to lock up your game so even the escape key won't work requiring either alt+f4 or F5-F8 quick save/loading to remove. Must be an evil hag trick.
2- So when invisibility didn’t break when I pick up item A but does when I attempt to pick up item B it's just an intended interaction that is totally consistent. Clowns these days really never hear themselves talk.
Invis in this game isn't working right..
The eye doesn't guarantee you will see them. It forces them to make a stealth check vs your insight or perception I can't remember which. If they win, you won't see them.
Ahhhh that makes sense. I wondered what that little ghost thing was.
Well don't I feel dumb.
My quasit, with his stupid 7 HP, avoids being found most of the time fairly easily.
See invisible is only 9 distance and requires a roll. You will see how less than stellar it is if you get your eye exchanged... its nice when it works, but it rarely does. True sight / devil sight/ whatever its called bypasses it.
In tabletop when you are invisible you are just that, unable to be seen. Invisibility can be foiled numerous ways both mundane and magical. You aren't magically silent either, so your footsteps still make noise, opening a door or lifting objects still can be seen.
In 5e you are treated as Heavily Obscured for purposes of hiding and you get an advantage on attacks to other creatures and creatures attacking you have disadvantage. Because as mentioned earlier you aren't muffled/silent so enemies that are listening can have a general idea of where you are. And invisibility isn't infallible, if you step on a puddle your wet footprints are visible. Or walking through a dirty/dusty hallway your footprints can be seen. Or if someone threw dust or water on you, you can be seen that way. Or for spells like glitterdust or faerie fire that makes you visible as well. And See Invisibility will automatically reveal you (Though BG3 has you roll opposing checks).
Attacking/Casting Spells or doing something that makes your presence extremely obvious and undeniable breaks that.
For BG3 its the same thing, you are treated as heavily obscured for purposes of stealth and enemies will go to the last location they saw you and they use Perception to try and find you (vs your stealth when you attack) as well. Invisibility can work well but turn-based and timing it right and utilizing it for getting advantage is the best way or if you have to sneak to do it quickly (or use turn based as well if you can do it carefully) or scouting.
Invisibility isn't a "get away with anything" spell. You still need to be kinda sneaky when using it. For instance you still make noise and people can see you interacting with stuff. Did you try anything beyond just casting invis and then doing ♥♥♥♥ expecting everyone to be "I see no one here so it must be nothing? I guess I just never owned things and that bloody wound in my side must be the wind.".
