So invisibility sucks I guess?
Invisibility is literally nothing more than disadvantage when attacked and advantage when attacking. Instead of oh idk, actually being invisible for the purposes of stealing/looting/sneaking/or really any non-combat purpose. Guess shame on me for not reading the ability when I took it I just figured a spell called "invisibility" would actually make me invisible, and everything that comes with it, instead of just being a stupid combat trick. Hell I've tried to use it outside combat and enemies don't even roll a perception check it just randomly falls off and they catch me as if I wasn't invisible, even though it still had time left on it's duration.

As great as the game is this decision really baffles me and feels so counter intuitive to what the spell really should be. Why did they make the spell function in such a really weird way?

2 more things:
-every enemy seems to have the ability that lets them see invisibility. I just started a new game and one of the looters in the withers house used it.
It's like that joke about how everyone superman ever meets has kryptonite.

-some enemies I've noticed just ignore when you have it. Probably a glitch.

I've pretty much come to start feeling this. I wonder if everyone saying "it works great" are playing on tactician or not. If so then I would likely agree with it being bugged.
I've had all that weirdness happen on balanced as well.
I did have a fight recently where my invisibility did nothing. They all just ran up on my rogue like they knew he was right there. Despite being invisible and hiding.

Other than that, it's worked as expected every other time.

If you had any familiarity with D&D, you'd know that this is huge. Massive.

Were you sneaking or did you just lumber around relying entirely on your invisibility to keep you hidden? Because the game has a loading screen that tells you your enemies aren't deaf and can still hear you if you don't sneak while invisible.
Really? From my experience stealth isn't necessary when I'm invisible. As long as I don't do anything that break invisibility enemies don't detect me.
same. dont need to be crouching either can just run through all the red visibility cones and do my thing without issue.

Basic Invisibility is ok - but Greater Invisibility is where it's at.
Are you in turn based mode while invisible? I’m not sure about the spell, but drinking the invisibility potion only lasts 10 turns. That time flies by if you aren’t using turn based mode.

Enemies will know the last location of your character before you stealth/invis and will move to that location on their turn.
All depends how you use what.

There is a cloak that gives invisibility on killing blow per turn. That thing kicks ass both on melee and range. Equip it, equip ring that gives advantage for all attacks and disavantage on saving throws, on some 2H melee paladin. You're basically unkillable machine now. Enemies won't see you and will target your tank.

This cloak is only avaible in dark urge campaign
I got the cloak from the dark urge quest, and during combat I will go invisible sometimes automatically, and be able to use sneak attacks for some decent damage as a rogue.

You're doing something wrong.

Or I'm apparently running into an insane amount of bugs this run. Literally broken at Auntie Ethel trying to select a hair except one text box is overlapping another and I can't select interact with any of them, can't select a hair, can't even press escape to pull up other menu options.

As for the invisibility let's see I...

Cast it on Astarion who is my stealthy this run. Had him crouching to be in stealth and was going so far as the avoid all red areas and then low and behold without ever being in one he randomly stands up out of stealth and out of invisibility with a random NPC giving him one of their generic one liners. Attempts to stop this included using other characters to distract that NPC either via dialog or other spells but eventually I just had to cast fog cloud on what I wanted to steal and have him stealth through that.

So yeah this games logic, casting a big giant cloud of fog to obscure an area causes no reaction, but sneaking in while invisible means insta-caught without any indication of a perception check my the NPCs.

not a single bug did you list there. not one. just because you do not understand the mechanics of both not being seen AND heard, does not make this a bug.

you don't want invisibility. you want GREATER invisibility. that one does not dispell on actions, does not dispell on someone hearing you, and you can use it in combat for at least a few attacks.

Its an op spell and it needs to be held down so its not to powerful early stages. Could you imagine having the spell wish at first level? The whole world be yours invisibility is kinda the same thing. My personal opinion is it was added mainly for quest that need it because they would of got rid of it like wish spell. Imo that means that a lot of things are pregenerated for the sake of the quest..dice rolls certain happenings ect i feel are scripted and certainly not random and that why they allow a spell like invisibility because of the scripted encounters you may face without it good luck

It's a second level spell in 5e, where it only ends when you attack or cast a spell. Not just because you bumped a door

Second.

And now that I look it up, the description is about the same as the PHB. It says nothing about it breaking if you interact with something like it does.
