You get to eat brains.
ok well that sounds better if Gale gets the girl i can live with that option, thx
1) Let the Emperor kill Orpheus
2) Persuade (tough) Lae'zel and Voss to relax
3) Persuade Lae'zel to stay with the party
4) Let Wyll and Karlach journey to Avernus together.
Basically, everyone lives to fight another day. We can rescue Wyll and Karlach or help the Gith overthrow Valakith later on.
The answer is to side with the Emperor, but I consider him a scumbag, and it screws over the Gith people, so .... other than making Gale the suicide bomber ,,,
... if it was an option, I would take it ... but it isn't ....
... I would take Omeluum with me as the mind flayer (and still free Orpheus, but leave him in his original body.)
Consider it "a choice Larian has not given". BTW: there is a mod which effectively short circuits the normal ending of the game by allowing a non mindflayer to channel the netherstones, think it requires script extender. I have no idea if using it would wreck the epilogue.
Somebody also posted a hack/exploit getting around all this, too, though I forget it at this point.
It would have been nice to have the option to take Omeluum with you to help destroy the Brain, but, since you can't, the best ending for me is Gale blowing up. I think it's a nice conclusion to his character and nobody needs to transform into a mindflayer.
I would certainly agree there is no "perfect" ending for Karlach, to be sure, just finding which of two less worse choices for her.
Is it better for her to have to go back to Avernus, but at least not, this time, alone? Or to become a mindflayer, which IMHO does not appear to be working out for anyone other than Omeluum .... the first choice only now sounds better now that we have additional info from the Epilogue, I suppose.
