It's not karlach, not at all.

Lae'Zel and Shart both have significantly more character development and two narrative pathways you can either 'redeem' or 'corrupt' them.

Lae'Zel probably has the best romance, and she's naturally poetic with her words, despite having 8 charisma. She's also no nonsense and would never lie. If you value honesty, go for her. She's a newcomer to Fae'run and quite young and naive. All she has known and worshiped gets challenged as you progress the game. Will you double down on her zealotry or will you open her mind up to the nuance of life?

Shart, is opposite to Lae'Zel. Secretive, deceitful, and manipulative. But beneath HER exterior, lies a wounded girl gaslit and manipulated by her current family. Despite her shroud, within is a kind hearted girl who wants to DO good, but a higher power prevents it. Will you solidify her indoctrination, or release her from her shackles?


Karlach, is shallow. Probably because she has had the least time to stew. She is a free spirit with a heart of gold. I understand that archtype works great for our younger GenZ audience.

Yeah, Karlach is great. But I like Lae'zel even more, she starts out kinda evil, but only because she spent all her life in gith society and doesnt know any better and you can help her slowly turn into a better person over the course of the game.

And Lae'zel has a scene in act 1, in the grove ,where she interrogates one of the tieflings and after that you can call her out on pronouncing "tiefling" like "teeth-ling" and she reacts by rolling her eyes, which looks realy cute. Best scene in the game!

That eye roll of hers is THE BEST. I fell in love with her character after that interaction.
I don't use her or have romanced her in my current play through, but I somepoint plan to!
