Please chnage the mask of the shapeshifter!
I have it but it sux that you can never seen the face of your character when he/she/it wears it. It would be nice to have the face plate lift and then you can see the character's emotion when playing or some sort of solution similar to that. I do like to shapeshift from time to time to freshen things up. But man the mask just breaks the immersion.

You literally have a hide helmet option

You can just make it invisible, like any other helmet, using the tick box up the helmet slot in the inventory

Use it then take it off. The illusion persists.

The hide helmet option is only for cutscenes, sadly.

Um... no.
There are 3 options: show, hide in cutscenes and just plain hide. Personally I think there should be a fourth option "only show in combat".

Hide helmet option works both in and out of cutscenes, you just have to select to hide it fully instead of only "Hide in Cutscenes"

4th option, of course, is to only wear it for the few moments you are casting, and then wear something useful...

You also have a 5th option
Get the Disguise Self spell and make the helmet pointless to wear
Hide helm, done. My beef with it is that I can't change everybody to 'sound' what they look like. Astarion gonna Astarion no matter if he's a dwarf or a half-elf chick.

You can always swap it in if you learned the spell on a wizard.
