Karlach just pegged my jacked barbarian male.

I just finished my date night with karlach in act 3. I play a big human barbarian male. At the end of it a romance scene started in which she picks up my character who is bigger than her by the way and swings me around like a pretty princess then proceeds to spread my player eagle and oil check him. Now perhaps this is a bug and the game thinks my character is female for whatever reason. It was hilarious at first but is so immersion breaking and ridiculous I cant help but complain about it. At no point in the romance was this role reversal hinted at. This should be changed if it is intended to be this way.

She is kinda butch... I mean, barbarian... Strong enough that what size you are is as irrelevant to her as what size she is to you.

Ok, now, that said... reaching low isnt a role reversal per se. That she took the lead? Well, she isnt a fainting damsel, ya know? Fought in the Demon Devil Blood War... and lived.

Takes what she wants, unless someone says no... I am having a hard time picturing it as immersion breaking. But I didnt see it so... Bug or intended... Gotta go with yer gut maybe. She might not be the gal for you? Did you ask at Larian?
This is only Steam, after all, and nothing to do with Larian or their forums for things like bugs...

Honestly, I think it is on purpose people do this.
I sure had my fun romancing Karlach as a female dwarf. I mean, the scenes are cringe AF.

But the content of the scenes are based on what you say. Like Laezel "dominating" or "submiting" is entirely up to what you tell her in the dialogue prior.

However, one thing I have to say: I used to go to the gym, now I work out at home. When I was "younger", I dated a girl who were 1.87m and built more or less like me. I am 1.78m, around 95kb, but I can see the upper 2 ab segments with striation, not "fat" I guess.
We (me and her) were able to lift one the other without much effort. That really doesnt mean anything.

Your average gym goer who deadlifts 3x probably would lift someone around 150% of their own weight without much effort.

This is great; I don't have the character mix to see that one, but wish I did. For comedy effect I let Lae'zel rough up my PC Astarion in current playthru (and then Mizora too, in Act 3), some great stuff there too. These BG3 women have no chill.

It seems strange when compared do La'zael which specifically gives the player a choice if they want to be the dominant or passive one, i mean unless you are playing a character like a gnome who physically cant pick her up that would make sense there wasn't much choice yeah otherwise nah, specially the oil checking i don't think people who romance karlach as a dude want that exactly.

The being able to lift my character I can get behind. But I am pretty sure this is a scene meant to be played if your character is a female. Not what I was expecting at all. The image of my poor manly Barbarian spread eagle on his back is disturbing

yeah, when I romance K in one of these playthroughs, ima test that. Thinking that there was a choice, and he just chose wrong.
