Return the locket Bug

I have the locket that Meli has stole from Barth but when I try to give back to Barth he says "I am not in the mood to talk right now" I took the locket from the chest in tiefling hideout. What should I do ? please help

How did you resolve thievery? If the kid brings up the lie about his fake mother, Barth no longer wants it back. But yeah, could be just another bug as well.

Ever since I discovered that it is possible to pickpocket the locket off the kid and give it to Barth during their confrontation, that's what I do every time. Barth is happy and the kid is impressed. Win-win.
