Also, again, the man had sex with the literal goddess of all magic. I'd say that warrants a little "obsessing" over.

Not a large role, but a memorable one.
Personally I don't mind characters that are a bit more static. I did a full playthrough focused on Gale and Wyll, and both are solid companions. Wyll is that classic good guy archetype that puts everyone else above himself, so that can only get so deep but it's fine for people that want that option. I liked Gale as well, but he's very similar to Wyll. They're both like comfort food.
Karlach wins hands down for having the worst endings to a storyline and Haslin is barely a companion.

The fact that if you allow him to drink your blood without stopping him he kills you, lies about it and doesn't care really shows how selfish and untrustworthy he is. Truth is both my good and evil characters would kick him to the curb
