I know you are being realistic here but we can always hope for something even when the odds are not in our favour. BG3 is one of the biggest games ever released and just because Swen has moved on to another game doesen't mean that DLCs are out of the question. Yes they are not planning on adding new DLCs but who knows they just might if people want it. And if we don't get any well it is what it is. Hopefully in that case we will get some cool mods where we can add any npc to our party.
No... just the sheer number of times that they have stated flat out they will not be doing DLC... they have never DONE expansions, expansions are contrary to their entire design policy... and their lead is moved on to the next game.
I mean, I can say easily enough that it is not a mathematical certainty. However I would buy life insurance on anyone who vowed to hold their breath waiting for it.
Personally, I dont think creating BG2 for another 2~3 years with no improvements in engine, early and mid lvl mechanics or graphics, in order to only brig more Quests, Characters, items, dungeons, enemies, and alike in form of a sequel is a good practice. DLCs are there exactly for that reason, so you dont sell the same game just to get more content across.
And I can safely say MANY, MANY people that bought BG3 are willing to buy a competent DLC or two for BG3 if Larian is willing to put a percent of their team (id imagine itd be needed to be a big percentage) into designing these in the next two years for those extra IP consolidation and money.
Also they have a deal with WotC, so things might be wildly different.
As evil companions Kagha is pretty much perfect - early game, actual evil, not chaotic, with agenda and story around her - shadow druids.
Sazza is another one that is interesting chaotic/evil, has story focus, even achievement dedicated to her, and having a goblin in party is fun.
He who was could be another one, dark, evil and cringy.
Many existing characters could fit evil party, but honestly game lacks actual evil choices more.
Already one on the nexus.
Sazza and Kagha are pretty obvious evil companions picks that already have clear recruitment paths.
I'm pretty surprised they added Karlach and Halsin while deleting Helia and ignoring Sazza, Kagha and Nere (he would double up with Minthara though, but they didn't have any problem putting two recruitable druids either).
I stand by my elder brithvar suggestion.
