Did you rescue the baby owlbear? If you do it kills the dog (unless you do some specific actions but I can't remember them off the top of my head).

I don't know what this guy is talking about. Scratch and the Owlbear are BFFs in my run.

I heard that too though...and it wouldn't be illogical. Now my ranger talked to them together and i don't remember everything but i might have passed some checks there.

I do recall a sleep scene where you hear a concerning noise, go check on scratch and the owlbear, and if you have talk to animals up you find out scratch had a bad dream and the owlbear comforted him. That may play out differently if some factor is not met.

I have seen people saying it was changed but I have no idea. The baby owlbear is kill on sight for me personally.

in act 3 you can get the cub to grow up to full size with a special potion and Dammon makes it armour you can call him in as an ally to fight (in the final battle) as a Battle-Ready Owlbear :)

I just like to kill it as the baby owlbear breaks the lore. In the lore Owlbears are pure evil creatures that at the best of times (ie when not hungry) will torture things to death for their own amusement and when hungry will attack and kill anything they see immediately and without any provocation, though if possible they will do it as slowly and painfully as possible. And it is impossible to train them. All you can do is keep them fed well enough that they do not go into hunger frenzy and then beat them badly enough that they're too scared of you to attack you.

So the idea of adopting a baby owlbear and then just treating it as a weird dog doesn't work.

How do you do this? I didn't do any of this and the owlbear was still just randomly grown up and in armor in the finale

its sjut something you can do once you rescue Orpheus and are doing the "Gather Your Allies" quest. when you have them all gathered in the room. then you get the ability to summon it in the final fight. like other allys

Hello Friend, I had a problem like this and was able to fix. Are you still in Act 1? That's where i had it.

It seems there are certain camp maps which can get Scratch stuck, as he wanders around. There are some in particular where he can get stuck behind an obstacle like a chest, vase, or training dummy, which for some reason prevents him from showing up at other camps as you move on to other areas. I know that sounds weird, but its true.

You may have to look in different camps to find the issue. Two possible areas he got stuck for me was the camp when inside the well (with the spiders) at blighted village. The other was the camp in Auntie Ethels cave.

If you can track down which camp he is stuck in, you need to shake him loose. A fog spell did the trick for me as it forced him to vacate the stuck area. There may be other options. I wouldn't recommend violence, it has to be something that doesn't hurt him. You'll know you fixed him when he starts showing up at other locations again.

Good luck.

I've never had the owlbear kill the dog, and no its not the owlbear cub. because in one run the owlbear cub has yet to appear in camp. and dog is still gone.

In case Google brings anyone to this page, I had this happen; for me, Scratch had turned invisible. I could see his dot on the minimap and if I hovered over him it would show the talk cursor, but he didn't show up in-game. Talking to him and petting him fixed it.
