And I think refunding and buying back at full release might lose you something. EA versions of the game on windows recieved a free upgrade to the DLC, which I assume when the finally release on Mac they will do the same.
It's only fair.
IT make sense. Mac is just an afterthought as gaming market. It's basically a little bit of chump change as an extra for more work.
PS5 is a significant market for gaming, way more relevant than Mac. That's why Larian cares about PS5 and forgot that they even promised to support Mac.
Way to set a sign towards everyone, that no one should ever offer games for macOS if the macOS community is like this.
The issue here is that Larian didn't say it wasn't releasing on MacOS until the day it launched for PC. To further the frustration, Steam is still advertising it as available for PC and MacOS. The only way for a Mac user who doesn't already own the Early Access version to know that it's not available yet is to (aside from the obvious don't trust Steam and look into discussions/posts from Larian and the BG3 community) purchase the game, install it, load the launch screen only to find that "we are targeting early September for MacOS. Exact date tbd" message.
The person you are responding to is correct. PC users would be righteously indignant over this sort of behavior, and PC users would be sending a message to Larian by uninstalling and refunding. Because PC users make up a large number of BG3 gamers, that message would be received.
Now, while I am a Mac user (I played most of my Early Access saves on PC before the PC took a dump) I'm not going to run and refund my game over this, and I don't recommend it. We aren't a large gaming market, and Larian doesn't care about the (as someone said in another post) the six of us refunding the game. It won't send the same message, and we would be missing out on the free DLC if we already purchased Early Access versions.
I do, however, feel we have a right to be upset. PC gamers being butthurt about...us being butthurt...is, uhm, stupid. Just enjoy your game, PC users. :)
