Because the game is doing really really well, which means that they may release more content at a later date. Not to mention, this game was most likely a huge gamble for both Larian and WoTC. Personally, I am very happy to hear about this, Larian is absolutely KILLING it! It also means that it is beating out first party Sony games, which I imagine is pretty big news as well.

Once BG3 is out for xBox many of them will leave Starfield.

Because this means more developers of PC and console games will pay attention to BG3's success, and follow suit. BG3 may be buggy, but it's a good precedent to return to - the precedent for BG3 was already set in the past, the industry just fell from grace.
