Baldur's Gate 3

Statistiken ansehen:
I noticed earlier that there is a severe lack of feats for Wis / Int casters.
I generally go for Charisma characters and it took me a while to notice this. I usually bring Shadowheart to 18 Con with Resilient, but I decided to go Wis this time. That's when I noticed that the only way to bring her to 20 Wis would be by wasting the Resilient feat on Wis for the +1, or giving her the hair. Same thing with Int characters. Yet, there are a million Str / Dex feats, as well as multiple decent Cha ones. Int / Wis needs a bit of love in the feat department.

honestly its a problem with 5e.

The charisma casters all persuaded WotC to screw over the wis/int casters.
There are other relevant half-feats in tabletop, but they tend to be in other sourcebooks (TCE and XGtE) rather than the PHB. Larian mostly stuck with PHB stuff.

Honestly this is true of most ability scores, though Wisdom and Intelligence have it worst since their PHB half-feats didn't get implemented at all (too RP heavy I guess). Dex and Charisma only have a single decent half-feat each (Athlete/Actor), while Strength and Constitution at least offer a few passable choices.

Tasha's feats are a can of worms, honestly, they're at a completely different power level from most of the PHB feats. I'd still like it if they added them, but it would make a lot of the ones currently in game even weaker.

Str and Dex literally every improved armor option that also give either +1 str or dex ?
It's definatly an issue, i'm so use to grabbing fey touched on most of my 5e casters. not having it is annoying. Hopefully modders will fix this soon.

Getting armor or weapon proficiency through a feat is not a "decent" use of a feat.

They mean the other ones - the mastery ones. Heavy armor one stacks nicely with magic plate to make you pretty sturdy
It's because they didn't get to use the Tasha's feats.

Telekinetic, Fey-Touched, Shadow-Touched, all literally what you're asking for.
Use ASI instead of a feat. Feats that increase stats only do so by +1, so rather than looking for 2 +1 WIS feats that give extra something, take 1 ASI feat to boost by +2 and then the other feat for something else. Or take another ASI. You're capped at 20.

What I do when starting is make sure my most important stats are at 16, since you can't have 18 start. If i want to hit the cap of 20 then, its 2x ASI. Also means i'm not burning lots of points on creation to get 17 and instead get more points to bump something else up a bit.

Same with the companions, redo their stats to make a better spread.

I don't know where to begin,

1. We're talking above the improved armor options, not the proficiencies....
2. Pretty sure -3 on all damage taken for heavy armor is pretty good investment.
3. Pretty sure +1 AC and no stealth disadvantage checks with Medium Armor is pretty solid too for certain builds.
4. Pretty sure that with +1 dex or +1 str 2 and 3 are already pretty good.

Right? Easy to get the impression either Larian or WOTC don't like casters much. Lots of little things like this.

Except we aren't, since neither of those two feats give +1 Dex. Hell it doesn't even make sense for Heavy Armour Master to give +1 Dex, hence why it only gives Strength the same as Heavily Armoured. And Medium Armour Master isn't a half-feat.

There's several others before Tasha's.

Elven Accuracy from Xanathar's Guide to Everything is a half-feat that gives a +1 to any of Dex, Int, Wis, or Cha.

As for the PHB feats, Linguist and Keen Mind simply don't work given the game's lack of languages, and lack of a day-night cycle or getting lost "feature". They'd have to completely reinvent the rest of both feats. Observant could work with a few tweaks, but the result would probably be redundant with Dungeon Delver.

Every improved armor feat gives +1 str or +1 dex. This doesn't mean they all offer a choice of either.

Also I'm pretty sure medium armor master DOES offer the choice of either.

I already said exactly this once, but
1) There's only two of them, Medium Armour Master and Heavy Armour Master.
2) Neither of them give +1 Dex.
3) Medium Armour Master does not give Strength OR Dexterity.

You can verify this with like 5 minutes in game (or less, depending on loading time) or 5 seconds on the wiki[bg3.wiki].

I suppose Moderately Armoured (not an "improved" armor feat) might be worthwhile on some builds since it also gives Shields proficiency.
