Can I Romance Asterion if I failed to in Act 1

I could not really proceed with Asterions Romance Act 1, as I got no camp celebration(....the druids and tieflings...and goblins may have all...died). On top of that, his approvals flip flopped with me. I'm now at the end of Act 1, about to go to Act 2 and his opinion of me is fair. So I'm asking, can I START my romance with him Act 2, or do you have to start Act 1 to proceed romantically with him.

He's just playing hard to get, just like real life. Give the right answer at the tieflings' party and he'll spend the night with you. If you don't, he'll still be interested, but things will go slower. In act 3 you'll do his personal quest and that defines the relationship.

i dont know, but i know that when i chose laezel as my main "sex" partner, Shadowheart never offered me sex despite being 100% reputation with me.

Well issue is, I never had a party :( all 3 factions (Tieflings, Druids, Gobs) died and lost respectively. So I never got a camp celebration or a chance to have that conversation with him and I'm worried that if I don't Kickstart the romance act one it may be unavailable in further acts

Sorry, I didn't pay much attention. So all died? Wow... I didn't know that could happen, not all 3 groups. Then I don't know what happens, but there is no party for Astarion to be in the mood. Either way, just keep being friendly, when suggestive dialogues appear, go for them. He has a moment in act 2, nothing as wild as in act 1. But in act 3 definitely do his personal quest.

Well I didn't participate in that with anyone due to not having the celebration so I'm unsure if that will affect me the same way

Yes, it was... a series of misfortunate events what happened in Emerald Cove. And alright, I'm gonna persist regardless I just got worried that if there was never anything romance-y (with rejection or not) in Act 1 that it possibly wouldn't be pursueable after

Same thing happened to me, I have exceptional approval with him and didn't have a party act one because all three are dead. I have just started act three but nothing has happened with astraon and he still calls me a traveling companion. At this point I'm unsure if it can even happen

I did start my romance with Astarion in Act II, it took me ages to have a good level of approval from him as I prefer playing the "good guy", But there are others cases where you gain approval, for exemple, you can gain a lot of approvals when you give him the book of the necromancer, let him kill Gandrel etc. He was abused by his master, he didn't get the chance to make choices, so everytime you have the option to give him a chance to choose, then you can gain approval and finally start a romance. My understanding from googling this myself is that you get until the end of act 2 to lock in any romance. So I missed it since I am now in act 3 and only just got his approval to good. Folk hero tav is not the best choice for romancing our vampire it seems. Next play through 😀

It's not? Darn it. I could have sworn the advert I saw said you could romance your very own non-sparkly Lestat-wannabe vampire.

Seriously the completionist in me intends to romance each and every one of the companions at some point. Just made the wrong choice for which one on my first play through.
