Disabling Steel Watch question
This parts hard for me to approach for one wasn't sure if by doing so will trigger all the soldiers in the city to become hostile? Second I found the area they kept the family's hostage prematurely. Kind of just stumbled on it but when started to travel to there underwater prison. Gortash popped up on a monitor threatening to kill them all if didn't turn back.
So no idea how exactly I can save them, skimmed through a YouTube video and looked like they just traveled there after disabling the Steel watch . Is that suppose to disrupt Gortahe's transmission or something? and what happens if I just kill Gortash to begin with? is that even possible? or does that ♥♥♥♥ everything up?

The 2 you killed in the factory doesn't appear to make the whole city hostile for some reason.

The underwater facility.

Good luck.

Freeing the prisoners is supposed to happen before disabling the steel watch I think.
I did it in that order and it made the workers at the foundry riot.

Not sure how many you need to free besides the VIPs for it to count. At least 2 drowned for me, but it said "the majority made it out"

*Minor Spoilers* What I did was go into the underwater facility first. I tried to disable the steel watch first, but Gortash ended up killing Duke Ravenguard in my play through. Either way Gortash is not going to be happy, and there's no bypassing this. The reason they have that warning in the first place is because it is a time sensitive mission. You have to gather as many hostages as you can in a certain amount of turns. Afterwards head to the steel watch factory and finish the quest. The steel watch guards throughout the city will be disabled and the Flaming Fist don't care. Hope this helps.

Do the underwater prison first and save before. Dash misty step, haste will let you save everyone. Then do the foundry.

I killed the entirety of Fort Wyrm and Gortash before even entering Lower City, skipping the coronation. Not intentionally, mind you, but someone just happened to murder the gate guards, turning the entire fort permanently hostile.

This, hilariously doesn't turn the Steel Watch hostile in the Lower City. However... This is because the Elder Brain takes control of them all. They ignore anything you do, such as murder or theft in front of them. But once you kill Orin, they all become hostile on sight, including the Flaming Fist groups always stationed with them. You could theoretically spare these Fist since they have the temporarily hostile buff for this, but I wouldn't know for sure since I didn't bother trying to. This also makes the submarine skedaddle, the steel watch plant explodes, and Orin is just kind of a confusing mess with what she's trying to achieve after Gortash is dead. Oh, and of course Ravengard is dead since there was no way prevent him from being hostile in the fort.

I don't recommend taking on the entire fort without going through the story motions since it breaks quite a few things. Though taking on 8+ Steel Watch, some flaming fist, and Gortash all at once was pretty fun.
