My co-op game with a friend when we went through everything. he had trouble just getting a good greatsword.
While I had at least like 5 different blue quality long swords.
The Tyr longsword
THe phalar longsword (you get from undersdark)
Githyanki Longsword
Are a few I can think of off the top of my head from Act 1.
Larethans Wrath (gives you an AoE action and is finesse)
The Longsword you get from the Drider is nice for a Ranger Drow.
But yeah, in general, there arent that many good longswords.
In Act 3 if you go into a conversation with Voss after agreeing to help him in his quest, you can trade a +2 Gith Longsword from him with:
Interplanar Slayer: This weapon grants a +1d4 bonus to Damage and Attack Rolls against githyanki, aberrations, fiends, and elementals.
Wrathful Smite: Possibly Frightens your target. They will be easier to hit and cannot move.
I know what you mean, in this respect the itemisation is oddly skewed. There are no Legendary longswords, and only a very small number of good +2 ones. On the other hand there are two legendary one-handed maces, two spears, and two greatswords, which tends to push you towards builds that use those weapons. Then again possibly the best weapon in the game is a trident, of all things.
Even the legendary Silver Sword is a Greatsword, while Longswords only get the Epic/Purple Sword from Voss in Act 3.
In fact, there is no legendary Longsword in the game, but at least 2 legendary greatswords.

There's also Cruel Sting. Got it off the drider in Act 2, when facing Ketheric for the first time. Suspect you might be able to get it from killing the drider at any point though.

That is, admittedly, all I've found for special longswords before Act 3.

"Voss's Silver Sword"
not to be confused with his legendary "Silver sword of the Astral Plane"
Since simple weapons are more commonly in use (ie more classes can use them) it simply makes way more sense that more of them exist.
That's kinda how campaigns work on tabletop (which this strives to emulate)...we get, most often, what we scavenge from those we kill... meaning we get what they used... so the more we kill, the more we get... but it makes the other stuff a bit more rare.
More maces? More daggers? Shortswords?
Of course. More people can use those.
