Report a translation problem
I generally destroy all the jars out of spite, but never done it while Toobin was watching so no clue about his reaction. Would seem odd he dislikes it though.
The brain jars are just meant to be kind of a dark commentary on the fact that the steel watch is (in fact) humans/other species that have been killed by Gortash and made into robotic slaves to do his bidding.
I don't know if they actually shut down individual steel watch, though. I doubt it. The steelwatch you see in Baldur's gate are just random NPCs that probably aren't actually linked to the brains.
