Torch & Combat - Am I missing something?
So whenever I enter combat with my team holding torches I find myself stuck being unable to use weapons. Clicking the torch off just makes my character unarmed and do next to nothing damage

You unequip your weapon when you use a torch.
Unless you have your torch in the offhand and you're using a 1handed weapon.

Your weapon SHOULD be in inventory, and it takes an action to reequip it.

You're able to use atorch an a one-hand at the same time but it may make impossible to use abilities.
Torch is not really combat advised.
Except in the first moments of ACT 2, you're not supposed to battle with torchs.
And within ACT 2 you do have other options to illuminate your characters.
Shadoheart has a light, some weapons give light and so forth.

That's stupid, there should be a button to reequip back your weapons
With the messy inventory I have given up on using torches after playing like 40 minutes !!

Add the weapon and torch to your 'Common' hotbar...you literally have the option to negate faffing around with the inventory lol.
dont we have a dedicated inventory slot for torches and activate it with a click of a button?

Yeah I tried Shadowheart light but it didn't seem to work. Annoyingly my team are using 2h weapons.

you can put the torch in your light source slot which doesnt unequip your weapons..but it does require you to switch back to your weapons by clicking the weapon on the bottom. this uses an action i believe.

i played the entire game and never used torches anyway, there are a lot of spells and items that give light.

I don't think it actually does anything though.

Yeah but in combat it just makes you unarmed

There is s button near dual wielding & the buttons for switching to range/close combat weapons. You click it to switch between torch and your weapon/shield. It costs one action point in combat.

I just use the cantrip “light “

Weird. Maybe it’s different if you’re using a two handed item.

You have to re equip your weapon every time from the item menu?

Really stupid that switching between melee and ranged is free, but switching to a torch isn't.
