Where the ♥♥♥♥ is Kar'niss?

I am so confused right now, so I am in the ruined battlefield...but I cannot for the life of me find Kar´niss? where the ♥♥♥♥ is he at?

You can run to the tavern in Act 2 where Jaheira is, there will be a quest to find him (Attack the caravan).

If you met him on the way from the gityanka nursery, then most likely you will not meet him anymore and you can try to get a lantern from Nere

I con him into giving me his Lantern and is safe from the shadows while he walks into it.

Unfortunately I met his group again undead while exploring the area.....
