Sneaky.. sneaky devs
They made it impossible to roll a nat 20 on the DC 99 save against the netherbrain. Just spent over an hour reloading and rolling with advantage (5+ rolls with advantage each reload because I've been stockpiling Inspiration) and I was able to come to the conclusion after over 100 advantage rolls that they literally coded this section to roll 19 or lower only, especially after watching several rolls land with either dual 19s. I get that you're not *meant* to succeed the saving throw, but even just having something in place for the possibility that a person rolls a nat 20 would be way better than what we got.

Why even bother with the saving throw and the "illusion of choice" if you're just going to railroad us so hard? Just give me the scripted scene without all this really uncouth subversion of one of the primary gameplay aspects, it ruins my immersion.

Tbh, the whole of act three felt hollow, with way more spelling and grammatical errors present and more dialogue lines not playing or cutting out halfway through as well. Really wish they'd just given us the ability to bug-hunt the later portions of the game, because between this and the forced update to Karlach's story it seems like they really needed the community's guiding hand.

You can roll it, it doesn't do much, helps with a later fight.
You can. I did it pretty early into trying to cheese it. The Cutscene is the exact same as if you fail, although apparently it causes the brain in the last battle to start with damage.

Yeah you're not meant to succeed this AT ALL. I've seen a video where they forced a critical success and the netherbrain just shakes it off anyway.

I rolled a nat 20 here so it's possible, but you still fail anyway so not worth the effort.

I did this yesterday by accident... Rolled a nat 20 and apparently it removes about 25% of her health later when you fight her for real. The debuff on her is called "against all odds"

Yeah that's yesterday, before today's update that changed some things.

Be aware that this is UP TO DATE information, as in within the last 8 hours, meaning if you played before today's update, you might have had an opportunity that I do not, the same way I have an opportunity for Karlach that earlier players may not have had.

Your anecdote isn't enough to do anything except prove you have terrible luck, especially since you don't have footage of the attempt as proof you really spent an hour rolling with advantage trying to get a 20 and failed.

Bro, sincerely go kick a wall with a toothpick under your toenail. People with your contrived mindset are why games like this get lauded as being "perfect" in the first place and why we get left with underwhelming results.

I don't need to be recording every single little thing to prove that Larian has a ♥♥♥♥ RNG system and aren't above railroading us how they fit, I don't need to record 2-3 hours of me sitting there waiting for it to go through with loading everything over and over again when you can sit here running their code to get the same results I do; 70% of rolls are below 8 on the die, meaning you need stupid amounts of bonuses to make some of the most basic checks.

Already disabled, hell the fact Karmic dice is even a thing should be a big red flag as to how *garbage* their RNG is.

What's your point?

Heard rolling a Nat 20 removes like 20 HP from the boss and has a later affect.
What are you crying about exactly?

I just did around 30 rolls earlier today and absolutely did not get 70% of rolls below 8.

In fact my average was around 13 (which is still normal for so few rolls), so nothing even close to what you're claiming, which is why people don't believe these claims.

Also why would they intentionally remove the ability to roll a 20 when they already had an effect for rolling a 20
